Been drinking black coffee since I was a child. My Grandpa started me and that first cup is still the best part of my day.

Life for me would definitely be less worth living without coffee.

Bout .40 cents a cup here using pods. Wife is a Starbucks junkie so I guess it balances out. I did get some , supposedly, Jamaican blue mountain at Starbucks a couple years ago, it was pretty good shit.

Another coffee snob here.

When I moved to the countryside I purchased an Italian machine for 2k and paid the barista who made my coffees everyday to come to my house, set it up and teach me to make my own coffee.

Tapeworm is spot on, best money spent.

I use an Italian espresso percolator style coffee maker in the morning.

1 cup getting ready for work and 1 cup for the road.

Add in some heavy cream.

I get local coffee from Oaxaca, my GF has family there and i get a pound for 100 pesos, which is ~5 bucks.

Honestly haven't been to Starbucks or Dutch Brothers in years.

It's cheap coffee with a lot of sugar and flavor, nothing special.

With the exception of going to breakfast after Church, we always make it at home. Too damn expensive. There have been on occasions I'll go to 7/11, they actually have great coffee.
I like to go out and grab a coffee. I make it at home also. It still costs money to make it yourself. Gas / electric / water / milk or whatever / coffee / filters etc. I would venture anywhere from over 10 cents to $2.00, depending on your method.

No way in hell would I pay $7 for a coffee. But I will pay $2-3, and maybe add a bagel with cream cheese. I like to drive and listen to youtube channels, or call family and friends while driving. Sometimes I'll prolong the drive if I have an interesting conversation that I don't want to interrupt.

This was well spent money. One of the greatest inventions ever.  Should probably get a new one but after five years the one I have still works perfectly.

I had this one for $20 and it made good coffee.
Unfortunately the carafe broke.

There a local place where the guy gets his beans shipped from all over the world.
He makes amazing coffee, and we like to go on occasion. Its only like 5.00 for a giant mug, well worth it.
Great place, great food too. (Besides all the clowns with their laptops, "working on their novels Brian").

I say the same about my morning omelet- so that means I'm an addict to eggs.

Flying the flag mate  ;)

I went with a Lelit Kate PL82T

It’s Nothing crazy. I like that I can run at least 6 coffee shots back to back when family are around.

The only reason I’d switch would be to get quicker steamer for the milk.

Nice machine, I looked at them but couldn't bring myself to have an integrated grinder...so I cheapest out and went with the rancilio Silvia and Rocky grinder.

The process of grinding your own beans, experimenting with grind coarseness/fineness, tamping and pulling shots is satisfying and enjoyable...almost moreso than enjoying the espresso itself. I get this sounds ridiculous to some but it is a truly enjoyable process when you get it rigjt

I went the Bianca. I rarely use the needle valve to pre-infuse but then I'm rarely able to procure lightly roasted beans. Only complaint is that the pressure relief valve seat became embrittled and I had to use some RTV to reestablish a seal. Aesthetically, the pressure gauge is chintzy but only people who know gauges would pick that, and I'd prefer an analogue shot clock like a stopwatch instead of a digi display but ain't nobody making that.

I rolled the dice on a Barraza Sette for the grinder. It's been good value and we use it heaps. Gripes: Will occasionally jump out of its setting, loud as hell but it's very quick, plasticky look lacks sex appeal of Ceados etc if you want wow factor.
