I am sorry to read of your impending divorce, brother. I say this without knowing the circumstances but regardless it is still hard on you.
I have pretty much always dated older women. I have more in common with them, even when I was younger because their tastes matched mine. A younger woman was constantly in need of "approval" for her looks. A mature woman, not today's whoring MILF/GILF, is more likely to enjoy your company and appreciate your attention. And then again, they may not. One of my brothers started dating awhile ago after divorcing and he pretty much said all he was interested in was a nice evening dinner date and then sex.
And to a woman his dates, all of whom were in their 50s, wanted to know if he was interested in getting married again. At this age women and even men, are often interested in finding someone that is potentially capable of "taking care of them". It can be a turn off, especially if it all they seem to care about. My advices (!) is to not make more of a potential relationship until it has proven worthy of your doing so.

Me and my ex are cool. We have to be since we have 3 kids and youngest is 7. So , one way or another we're going to have to deal with each other for a long time so I just decided to be cool and not bitter.
For the most part it's working out well for me. I actually have more money for myself now with a fixed child support payment than I did when we were married. She'd blow through my paycheck before I could even have lunch. Living check to check, she was/is horrible with money. Now I pay her child support and it's far less than she was helping herself to.
It's taken alot longer than expected to get back into dating. It's crazy though how the norms have changed. It's like ESF said in his post: these younger girls are just so casual about sex. You don't even need game. Just asking for it gives you a 50/50 chance. If you can talk at all and have even a little money, it's a done deal.
But it's also lame. Like others have said, younger women are glued to their phones, very shallow, banal, insipid, sophomoric. And older women.....if they're in their 40's or 50's and in good shape and single then you can guarantee they are crazy as fuck. Any woman I know that's worth a shit is married.
