In 26 years, I've never been banned on Getbig.
Since Covid I've been banned Jack Dorsey's Twitter 5 times, Instagram twice and banned from the YouTube comment section and I didn't even know that was possible.
You can get banned in the COMMENTS section??? WTF? I assume you were “commenting” and therefore should be meeting the ONLY guideline. I don’t know what the world is coming to, but I suspect that there are FAR more of “us” (free speech advocates on ALL sides of issues) than there are “them” (those that wish to control us). The only way to effectively combat an idea that you disagree with is to oppose it with your idea. When either side is crippled in that aspect it breeds hatred and division. That is exactly what “they” want. When I was a child in the DEEP south, I started school 3 years after desegregation and I can honestly say that I didn’t grow up with much racism. I would be lying to say I’ve never encountered it but it has NEVER been this bad.
THAT should be a fact that any intelligent freethinking man really thinks about.we have to resist the propensity to label “others”. There are trashy people of every ethnicity and likewise there are brilliant and good people as well. The white ultra leftist (not liberal - as TRUE liberals are just as appalled as TRUE conservatives) is the biggest problem. The Buckley / Vidal debates are legendary and I think everyone should take the time to watch and listen to those to gentlemen have a genuinely civil and intelligent debate.
When we simply choose to silence our opposition - all is lost. The same goes for throwing out hyperbolic rhetoric. I hear the term “Nazi” and “fascist” or “terrorist” and “traitor” thrown around by people totally ignorant of the true meaning of those words. Doing so repeatedly causes the meaning to be watered down (ie the boy who cried wolf ). There are ACTUAL examples of each of those right now and by diluting the meaning you strengthen them.
I wish I had a solution, but it seems that we have to hit rock bottom before we change.
