Good Lord, and he claims to be a training guru.

It's why the hit cult are only good for comedic value. They are truly delusional.

There's only 2 posters on this entire sight and the rest are gimmicks belonging to one or the other.
The "beakdoctor" phony screen account is operated by the same invalid operating "IroNat", "kwon", "Gym Rat", "Body-buildah", etc.

The paranoia is strong with this one.

You're failing miserably at trying to laugh it off. I've received several private messages from Getbig members who agree with me. But Wes believes "IroNat", "Gym Rat", "Rot-Iron", "Kwon", "Body-buildah" are all different people. So that's better than nothing.

I had one of Dardens books. I think it was called New High Intensity Training.  It was pretty poorly written. I was expecting Dr. Darden to produce factual data, peer reviewed studies, something along those lines. But it was a lot of fantasy. Almost hero -like worship of Jones. A rather naive account of the Colorado experiment,  an offering of every excuse in the book as to why the results of the colorado experiment couldn't be replicated.

Even some absurd analogy regarding a gorilla Jones owned and comparing the activity level and diet of the gorilla to HIT trained athletes as proof of HITs effectiveness.

Plus the cheap shots against Arnold. He actually asserted that Arnold didn't know how to say his own name until Art Jones told him how to pronounce it. All in all it was a blatantly biased and poorly written book. A waste of money

what's funny is that full body training of 20 exercises all with one set til failure leads to severe over-training almost immediatley :D :D :D

AJ pushed the set to failure BS because that would allow more people to get through the Nautilus clubs. Remember- those were expensive pieces of gear and a club needed a high number of clients to justify the expense. Who cares if the method rally didn't work, lol. Just make everybody feel good knowing they were training "scientifically"...

that kind of training circuit style is good for getting in shape not so much for building muscle

one set to failure works for me 8)

Per Mike himself, this was his most productive Heavy Duty/H.I.T. routine:

Workout 1 (Monday)

Legs
Superset
Leg extensions 1 x 6-8
Leg presses 1 x 6-8
Squats 1 x 6-8
Leg curls 2 x 6-8
Calf raises 2 x 6-8
Toe presses 1 x 6-8

Chest
Superset
Dumbbell flyes or pec deck 1-2 x 6-8
Incline presses 1-2 x 6-8
Dips 2 x 6-8

Triceps
Superset
Pushdowns 1 x 6-8
Dips 1 x 6-8
Lying triceps extensions 2 x 6-8

Workout 2 (Wednesday)

Back
Superset
Nautilus pullovers 2 x 6-8
Close-grip pulldowns 2 x 6-8
Bent-over barbell rows 2 x 6-8

Traps
Superset
Universal machine shrugs 2 x 6-8
Upright rows 2 x 6-8

Shoulders
Superset
Nautilus laterals 2 x 6-8
Nautilus presses 2 x 6-8
Rear-delt rows 2 x 6-8

Biceps
Standing barbell curls 1 x 6-8
Concentration curls 2 x 6-8

‘Was there anything else you did differently with this routine?’ I asked eagerly.

‘Yes, I used this type of routine throughout my professional bodybuilding career, but the greatest gains I got from it was when, rather than following it on the usual four-out-of-seven-day schedule, I began spacing it so I trained every other day on a split routine.

‘For instance, rather than train Monday and Tuesday on a split routine, working half the body on Monday and the other half on Tuesday’I would do the first half of the body on Monday, skip Tuesday to recuperate and then train on Wednesday, rest on Thursday and repeat the cycle again, starting on Friday. That was the most result-producing routine that I ever used.’

I expect nothing less than a retarded reply from you, lol.  I must have hit a nerve - goring your Arthur Jones Ox  ;D

"Marketing the new machines was also a challenge owing to their higher cost and general ignorance about their use and benefits. To address these concerns, Jones developed his high intensity training system which stressed quality over high volume. "

It was pure and simple a marketing ploy- and you swallow it hook, line and sinker hahaha

Casey Viators own words:

Beginners should stick to Nautilus for six months, then go to free weights.

Once you get past a year or so," Viator went on, "Push harder. Spend more time in the gym. Work the big muscle areas with bench presses, deadlifts, squats, military presses.

Viator recommends doing 20-30 sets per bodypart and doing each bodypart twice a week

Do at least five sets, always going up. My concept is first you pump the muscle up, then you stretch it out

Lyle McDonald

Someone needs to write a history on this guy. One of the weirdest people involved in the online fitness scene.

He's been around and seen as an authority for decades but doesn't even look like he lifts.
