New Years Resolutions ???

Anybody here got any resolutions for 2024 that they will probably discard in a week or two?    ;D

Spend 2024 as a gym year, focus on good sleep quality, better eating, feeling good and getting back into my prior athletic shape.

Get out of walking boot (mid Jan)

Conventional deadlift 400lbs and run 5-10 comfortable miles right after (May 1)

GR 24+ hour event (Sept)

Hit a HR (any time April - Oct)

Hold a little less flub

Me too. Thought about running and trying to get ripped for summer. Got plenty of time for it.

I’m going to use an approach where I focus on other factors and see if they provide the end result of the physical change.

for example I’ll eat food up to 1pm-2pm and then stop because I want to improve sleep quality. The side benefit of this could improved control of calorie consumption resulting in weight loss without that being the main focus.

Doing weights as an objective for functional strength/mountain biking and muscle gets put on.

Doing cycling cardio 3x week to improve fitness, energy, lower BP and HR with the side benefit of better sleep quality, muscle fitness.

I showed my wife photos of me 4yrs ago at 83kg and I looked great. She is only worried my face will look gaunt/old. I’ll get a facelift perhaps lol 😂

To resolve not to waste a minute when feeling good, hitting the work outs hard. Going to quit my retirement job in March and concentrate on building a business from my home computer. I figure it will take six months and I could fall on my face but I have to try. Too hit a half million views on my training thread would be nice. I'm close.

Most importantly to value my wife more and to never forget Jesus in my life. I see my expiration date and I can't waste anymore time.

I’ve been running a lot recently. Always did bodybuilder style cardio, incline walk, stairs etc.

Running is amazing. I never once felt accomplished after the 40 mins on the stairs. Just something that had to be done.

The feeling when your 3 miles into your 4 mile goal and having to talk yourself into finishing, finding mental resolve. Nothing else in the bodybuilding sphere has that effect.

its an important part of functional fitness.

I have a lot of goals to work on,most of them are of a personal nature.

As far as training goes,I`m, training to be in the best shape of my life, and to do this I will have to also prove that age is just a number.

Visualization is key.................what you can see in your "minds eye" is what you can become. if you have tunnell vision............and I am driven to do just that.

If I fail,it will not be from a lack of trying cuz nothing beats a fail liked a good old college try, no matter what the outcome !!

Good post.  Running does suck, but as you know, once your are in a routine, you feel amazing just at normal times when not working out.  Also, learning about Zone 2 makes it so much more enjoyable / I used to think if I went over 7:45 on a mile I was “failing”.
