I personally wouldnīt call it an upper body squat as i think Parallel bar dips are but itīs a great all round movement

another great old school exercise is the DB around the world.. more chest related but will of course work lats too

Definitely a good move.

I feel it in the lats, chest, and triceps.

Yes i know youīre old school IroNat  ;D  Hits Triceps very well as you wrote.
I also started doing pullover & press with a barbell after seeing Rich Gaspari do them back in the day.
More of a finishing off exercise but really hits triceps, lats, chest

Bent arm BB pullovers are great too. I never really got into the cross bench pullovers which most did for chest & Serratus. I like them for Lats & Triceps so the Gaspari version is more my thing

definitely works shoulders , lats , chest, triceps ...  Bob Paris did have an outstanding physique so who can argue with him?
depends on exercise performance too as slight variations could cause different reactions in people.

A pullover & Press is an interesting exercise as itīs a compound move (press) & an isolation, stretch movement.
excellent ...

obviously you can press more than you can pullover but i like it ..just my opinion.
Itīs one of my best lifts & iīve got strong on the pullover. it all comes together as one exercise which is very complicated :)  but an ideal exercise when mastered

yes & i never really got into this drop your hips on the cross bench variation...utter nonsense & as far as the Serratus is concerned crunch on a cable crunch or cable pushdown.

cable crunches are perfect for Serratus stretch & contraction

Pullover & press with an EZ bar was a staple movement for me 15/20 years ago. Can't remember why I stopped doing them, may have to reintegrate them into my training. I don't think I've seen anyone do them in a long time.

Pullovers definitely work my lats & triceps very well.
Rich Gaspari did them regularly.
Bill Pearl liked them too.

What's up with old bodybuilders and arms? They looked very atrophied and damaged.

My guess is nerve damage & the arms always show first. Rich is seen on a video doing one arm pulldowns & he says on one side clearly (think it was his right arm/side that it was his bad side.
could see he struggled on it.

From lifting weights that are too heavy, too much volume, or just age?

I do them with a bar, so i don't bang the dumbell in my head. Would rate it also as a chest movement.
