That's so funny.  While it's become necessary to specialize if you want to be the best at ages 11-12, parents have literally zero idea how big a leap kids take (or don't) once they hit high school.  The physical size and strength are the driving factors to who gets the opportunity to play beyond that level.  Nothing they did at age 8-12 makes a fucking difference, other than if it develops a love of the sport.

My coworker has a son in 5th grade who’s a very good baseball player. The son wants to play soccer in 6th grade and his dad is legit panicking/stressed because the seasons are at the same time and he can’t play both.
