General discharge under honorable conditions is bad. He was asked to leave very early on, so they weren't messing around. It would likely have been a dishonorable discharge but they usually do their best to avoid the hassle of a court-martial, and we know Hankins loves a plea deal, so they offered him this in order to get rid of him quickly and quietly. God, everything this guy touches just turns to shit.
