At first it didn't seem to bother him, but he never explained it.

I think the 1-2 punch of the JKK drug reason for kicked out of military coming out and his rejection from Elon (one of his lower options) rocked him.  I think he always knew about High Point (from his "neighbor") and that was his absolute worst case scenario, then he convinced himself he could do better even though everyone (including the wife) told him the criminal past would DQ him.

I still think he ain't gone though.

It’s fckn shameful to any REAL veteran. If I had a JKK discharge and was KICKED OUT (because being kicked out means that you had NO say and were NOT allowed to serve any longer - in your case you weren’t even allowed to complete your contract) . I wouldn’t even mention being in the military. I would have been ashamed because it means you were t  AS GOOD AS GUYS LIKE ME!!!
But this is typical of your life. You “almost” complete things. Like you won a WEIGHT CLASS and claim to be the show champion. Most of us would be embarrassed to say that and would tell the TRUTH and say “well I didn’t win the open BB division but hey at least I took my class”. In fact there are probably a ton of us who have won a fckn weight class Brian.
You just aren’t a winner - you’re not a bad ass - and doesn’t sound like you even have your son 1/2 of the time. I had a divorce early in life and you can bet your ass that my ex knew better than to try and deny me 50/50 custody. I made sure to purchase a home close enough to make it work. It’s was 100-% about my kid. Kids are all adults now and I am close to all of them. No fckn way I would have no en to go away to a school for personal reasons if it meant any less time sleeping under my roof with my children. It already sucked that my first had to be at their moms for 14-15 nights a month. But keep deluding yourself Brian and keep getting the same half assed “almost won” results in life
