Late reply. I think they are interesting from a psychological standpoint, they have a lot of psych issues but thrive in certain environments. I don't share those characteristics and never had any similar aspirations.

Why would you find that interesting though?  Is it that people can be otherwise fucked up, but able to succeed in one narrow environment?  Able to thrive in certain specific narrow tasks?  The idea that a person can be sane on one area, but otherwise crazt?

I get it, I'm just curious.  I find it endlessly fascinating trying to figure out if someone is telling the truth or lying in the context of ambiguous facts and uncertainty, like that movie about the chick from Theranos.

I've just always been interested in what makes people tick. Yeah it's interesting that these guys are often complete fuckups in civilian life, perhaps addicts amd wife beaters. One guy said they specifically choose guys with childhood trauma. But at the same time they can't be felons so they have needed to have some measure of control. I'm of the opinion, though, that we have very little voluntary control over our personalities and how they affect our lives overall. Hankins enacts his genetic code, I do mine, and so on. Harder to be mad at people haha.

Not to make this about myself, but regarding Brian's tremor, I had it extremely bad in the past few years, I couldn't even drink a cup of coffee with one hand nor write my name legibly. They even sent me to a neurologist who said there wasn't really anything wrong with me, from a disease aspect. In the past year plus it suddenly went away so I don't know what caused it. Maybe Covid contributed. I don't know why Brian has it or what his own explanation for it is.
