Russia did what they did because they saw weakness.  They didn't get that with Trump.  Afghanistan withdrawal showed that, and wouldn't have happened under Trump as well. Heck, Trump gave a picture of the Taliban leader's home to him, and said if one hair was harmed on an American's head, he'd wipe them out.
