YOU MEAN THIS ONE? The both have a gut, problem is Yates didn't have the taper & size to compensate.

In ADDITION, Yates ALSO had a WIDE waist which further RUINED the taper on front shots, something Coleman doesn't have to contend with even with the gut, that only shows on side shots.

Well, he definitely looks like a construction worker. But that was always part of his "working class hero" appeal - that thing that Branch Warren has going for him.

But the grimace in that shot reminds me that, whoever might have been the hardest-working builder in history, Dorian certainly looked liked he was the hardest working. Even Arnold didn't seem to be suffering as much in his pix.

Agreed, but it was ruined by his ARROGANCE, which was completely contrary to that image.

He trained hard, deserves credit for it. Not harder than some others though, like Coleman.

Judging from Pumping Iron, Schwarzenegger wasn't training as hard as he claimed he did. Others in the film were more inspiring.

Pumpster, was Dorian really arrogant?  Every time I have seen him speak he seems like a nice guy.  Now I know that this thread has been 120 pages debating the virtues of Coleman vs Dorian as a bodybuilder, but I never perceived him as arrogant.  He seemed very loyal (except to the wife.... ) as he was always in Ernie Taylor's corner after he retired.  Now, ND and Sucky are arrogant in their continued lovefest of all things Yates.  Hulkster could be perceived as arrogant...or blinded...by his devotion to Coleman.  Hell, even you could be considered similar.  Regardless, both Coleman and Dorian do not appear to be arrogant.  Now I met Levrone, he is definitely one arrogant dude.  Overall, I thing that this thread has warped from a reasonable discussion to a rehash that I have seen reiterated 60 pages earlier.  I and I am sure most of the GetBiggers are tired of this drivel.  Shut it down and move on to something new and original.  Consider this ND, Sucky, Hulkster and Pumpster....have your rants even changed one opinion.  I believe not...I preferred Coleman before the thread and I still do.  I am sure Yates fans were not swayed either.  In the end, who gives a flying frack.

Yates seems decent personally, on the other hand he never thought to smile in any shots. He was also quoted as saying about his competition, that they all knew he was way out in front. Doesn't sound good coming from the winner and from pics it's obvious the margin was much slimmer or non-existent.

When he is standing beside guys like Flea Labrada, he looses a lot of his appeal.

On the other hand, ronnie actually benefits by being compared because he actually still looks great standing next to his competition.
