yeah, definately looks tight there; I've been studying this thread alot recently and I've come to the conclusion that Ronnie was definately better in 99 and maybe 98 and the 2001 ASC but overall, Dorian was the better bodybuilder throughout his career.
i personally think coleman's best year is 03.
in 99 he looked great, but would not beat yates. yates is too well conditioned and has too much density from head to toe - regardless if coleman has some better bodyparts (biceps, quads, not chest - coleman always has gyno).
in 03 coleman was huge and that would be very competitive for dorian.
not only was dorian a better bber throughtout his career, but far more dominant. yates started and ended his career at the top. coleman started his career at the bottom and how things look now, he'll end that way as well.
yates beat better guys more convincingly than coleman did. whether or not you agree with the scores or not, HULKSTER, that's reality.
would coleman have beaten the same guys that yates did - nasser, flex shawn, kevin, paul, etc. all in their prime?
i dont think so. he struggled against gunter, jay, dexter and a sub par flex and a best of cormier who still would not have beaten any of the above mentioned guys at his best
you claim yates had political wins but provide no explanation was to why?
yates retired with a legacy. he was the most dominant bber of all time. he beat the best guys that this sport has ever seen year in and year out . there have never been so many great bbers all competiting against each other at the sime time (1990's). coleman was a part of the 90's but was a tier b guy.
also, yates changed the way people train and diet. he brought conditioning to a new level. after he retired, people not only remember his physique, but also his training and nutritional methods. he was a pioneer in the ways people train and approach the concept of overtraining.
ronnie may have 8 olympia wins, but other than that what will his legacy be? he didnt do anything revolutionary (unless you count plasma expanders) or have as much as an impact that dorian did - even after yates retired.
i know this has nothing to do with how they look, but just another difference between the two.
