The mandatories were created for a reason - to properly evaluate each physique under the same conditions. You cannot penalize Ronnie for the way he looked relaxed, otherwise you must also penalize Dorian. I assure you that he was keeping his gut sucked in too. First of all, that pic is not from the video. Second, it's taken from the side. Last time I checked the judges don't sit at the corners of the stage. So they wouldn't be able to see it. Third, Ronnie's midsection looks flatter than Dexter's in that pic.

I don't think that Yates and Coleman neglected their stomachs close to the end of their careers. I believe it's all of the drugs they have been taking their whole career that is making it look swollen. Most, not all of the bodybuilder from the 90's up to this day have a gut in the later part of their careers. If you look at the guys from 80's and before. There is no gut because the amount of drugs taken were not as bad as the drugs taken these days.
