Upper back - Trapezius Dorian's traps are unequaled in terms of thickness , detail and separation , Dorian's traps especially his lower traps are much bigger , Ronnie's traps are very good but cannot match Dorian's

I disagree about Ronnie's traps not matching Dorian's. Dorian's lower traps may be thicker, but Ronnie's upper traps are larger. Both have equal separation. I have yet to see this "unequaled detail" of Dorian's traps in the rear double biceps or lat spread.

Quote
Middle Back - Latissimus dorsi - This like the traps is another area of the back that Dorian shows a clear advantage over Ronnie , Dorian's lats are thicker , they insert lower near his waist , they show much better detail than Ronnie , Dorian's are ripped much more than Ronnie

Dorian's lats have better definition, but they lack depth. His lats look like they are shrink wrapped to his body. Ronnie's, on the other hand, have incredible fullness. It comes down to personal preference.

Quote
Lower Back - Erector spinae like the traps & lats another clear advantage for Dorian , Dorian's show better thickness and detail his x-mas tree at his weight is unmatched

Dorian's lower back is flat as a pancake while Ronnie's looks much thicker. It comes down to size vs. detail. I personally prefer the look of Dorian's lower back.

wrong, it's not an ignorant and uneducated observation. It's the truth. Just b/c Dorian has the edge in lower back does not mean Ronnie wins in everything else. It simply means that the only area where Dorian convincingly edges out Ronnie is the lower back.

No it most certainly is , especially considering Dorian's traps are much better thats a clear edge in the upper back , Dorian's lats especially viewed from the back are better and insert lower clear advantage in the middle back and his lower back is better , clear advanatage in the ENTIRE back , Dorian's back has everything Ronnies does and MORE

Of course you could disagree about the traps you're not that bright , Traps isn't a contest its NOT close , Dorian's entire traps are thicker , better detailed and better separated and I've posted pictures of Yates' traps in both poses you mentioned and its clear he has the edge

They lack depth? sure they do  ::) Ronnie's lats are fuller for two reasons , one they're higher up and two he's holding more water or fat pick one , and its not a matter of personal preference its a matter of Dorian's lats being shredded in the likes Ronnie's are NOT and being lower

This is a very , very pathetic attempt at an advantage , Dorian's back looks flat lol this is so lame I'm surprised you guys have the balls to keep typing this , Dorian's back is outstanding in every aspect , his lats insert near his waist while Ronnie's doesn't so his back is scrunched up more , I've never once heard of anyone , anywhere ever say Dorian's back looks flat so he's at a disadvantage lol this is a straw that you guys not working with much have latched onto for dear life and its indictive of what you're working with and its not much , I could see if he had high lats or something but jesus lol

great post !!

I mean does Ronnie have anything in the back that Yates doesn't? NO does Yates have something in the back that Ronnie doesn't? YES a better x-mas tree , better traps and shredded lats , couple that with equal or better detail and dryness and its no contest

Thats a great shot , probably his best but he still has his usual flaws in this pose

Biceps/triceps are to big for his torso , his forearms are not in proportion with his biceps/triceps his glutes stick out and his calves absolutely suck

This shot is better than Ronnie's and why? he has much better overall proportion & balance he has everything Ronnie does and more ! Ronnie has a great back and Dorian is simply better , clearly evident in the traps , lats and x-mas tree , Dorian's lats insert lower and his back shows much better detail , Dorian is bigger , denser , better balanced and Ronnie is probably equal in terms of dryness and hardness

are you out of your mind? dorians arms are way out of proportion. they look like stumps with no shape, his bis are missing. ronnies whole lower body is more conditioned, with much better seperation and cuts in the hams, glutes and even calves in the comparison pics. his back is also more muscular with much more thickness(dorians looks  like a pancake). not to mention the superior taper, and muscle shape. i also would contend that ronnie has more detail in the back in that shot, with his upper back looking like a ledge were his lower back starts. dorian looks flat and much less muscular in comparison.

dorian has nothing that ronnie does

arms are to small for his back, and biceps are not evidenct, and triceps are less detailed. delts are less detailed. whole lower body less detailed.

taper and shape goes to ronnie clearly. his thickness is chrushing dorians, ronnies traps look to be twice the size of dorians.

you truly are a moron. dorian is being anhilated in that comparison. did you forget the whole lower body, and limbs? not to mention the thickness and taper?

dorian is losing badly. your ignorant to how shows are judged and have a skewed idea of proportion. dorian is not proportioned by any means, his arms are seriously lagging. and ronnnies big glutes, match his monster arms back and legs.

here's Dorian's successor had Ronnie never competed. Notice how well-balanced and "hard" it looks.

bob also claims that tom prince weighs 230 when everyone can see that he doesnt even weigh close to 200.

bob is pissed bc it took him 20 tries to turn pro in the 90's.

the judges were looking for bigger, better conditioned guys thanks to dorian.

bob blames dorian's new standard on his inability to turn pro within 15 tries.

bob also thought that in 02, after placing 2nd at the NOC, he could be top 6 at the Olympia and beat guys like dennis james, lee priest, gunter, etc.

More fallout from Bob Chick's poignant comments on Yates' shortcomings. Obviously hit a nerve:

http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=127396.msg1811342#msg1811342

you guys are pathetic.

throughout this entire thread, you've chosed to ignore other bbers like flex, dillet, priest, ronnie himself, nasser, etc. but have no chosen to live on bob's word.  who by the way has never won a show or even in the same country mile as flex, dillet, ronnie, etc. in terms of bbing talent.

no so pathetic as to come off as an expert on training and judging but never going to a gym, but instead using a bowflex in the basement while mom is making your chicken and rice for the last time.

sounds like someone who posts on here.

meltdown , serious meltdown lol

Bev Francis : Bodybuilder's phsyique you most admire ?

The man Dorian Yates , his combonation of size and shape makes for an awesome physique , unlike a lot of big guys he's not a load of massive parts just thrown together , His symmetry is almost perfect , Everything is in proportion , no weak bodyparts .

mind you Bev Francis is an I.F.B.B. judge if anyone would know what symmetry and proportion are its her , this quote silences your ignorance and everyone else .

Ronnie 2001 ASC was outstanding , probably his best he would give Dorian a run for his money but in the end Dorian has advantages Ronnie doesn't

and 01 ASC Ronnie has advantages that Dorian doesn't. What's your point? If we compare Ronnie to 93 Dorian, then Ronnie has better conditioning, better definition, better shape, better taper, better fullness and comparable muscularity. If we compare Ronnie to 95 Dorian, then Ronnie has equal conditioning, better definition, better shape, better taper, better fullness and equal symmetry.
