no it isn't.

the dorian nuthuggers are only saying this because dorian loses badly.

pictorial/video comparisons are used in every single aspect of this sport from its inception until now.

just because dorian was not up to par does not mean all of a sudden they are pointless.

thats just a convenient and pathetic excuse.

dorian was good. Ronnie took what dorian brought (size and a good back) and added shape, detail vascularity.

and took the sport up a notch.

When you resort to childish name calling it really only degrades yourself and shows your frustration. I would expect more from you seeing that you really seem to like the sport given your recent showing in the Mr. Get Big competition.

Spare me your holier-than-thou speech. It's obvious you are a troll, probably IceCold or Pubes, looking for attention. I can understand if you said something factual to back up your arguments but everything you say is so far removed from reality that's it impossible to take you seriously.

I am amazed this thread is this long, it's pointless arguing with those presumably who have never seen these competitors live and in person.

I have posted quote after quote from credible sources who've seen both on stage, and they all claim Ronnie at his best is unbeatable.

Peter McGough - Flex, August 2005

"Ronnie sporting that [01 ASC] look would, in my opinion, be unbeatable."

Flex Wheeler - MD, February 2004

"I'll go on record as saying Ronnie is truly the biggest, hardest, most shredded Mr. Olympia in history. No disrespect to anybody at all, but I'd to identify Ronnie Coleman as the greatest Mr. Olympia of all time."

Jean Pierre Fux - Personal Website

"The current Mr. Olympia (Ronnie Coleman). In top shape, probably the best physique that ever stepped on stage."

Paul Dillet - MD, February 2004

"Understand that if Ronnie walked away tomorrow, I do not think anyone can measure up to the standards he has set. Just like Sergio Oliva, an awesome bodybuilder way ahead of his time, and like Flex Wheeler, who had an absolutely perfect, beautiful physique. No one will match Serigo or Flex and now Ronnie."

Steve Blechman - MD, Febrary 2004

"Ronnie perseveres and proves continually that, at his best, he is unbeatable."

John Hansen, 2x Mr. Natural Universe and Mr. Natural Olympia - Personal Website

"It would be safe to say that [Ronnie Coleman] presented a physique that has never been seen by the bodybuilding world ever before. Competing at an incredibly massive 287 pounds, Ronnie destroyed the competition with a physique that could not possibly be equaled."

Shawn Ray – 2003 Year in Review (Hosted on Bodybuilding.com)

"Ridiculous" Ronnie Coleman would win his 6th Sandow Trophy in a row looking absolutely ridiculous! This guy was from another planet! Ronnie added about a million pounds of muscle from the previous year and squashed the competition on sheer MASS! Unbelievable is what Ronnie was this night!"

Dorian Yates – PBW Radio Interview

"The judges would probably choose Ronnie [over me]."

Mike Matarazzo – Flex, January 1999

“I think this creature from another planet, Ronnie Coleman, is going to be number one for a while. I think that, in the shape he was in, he would have beaten Dorian Yates. Ronnie has every single attribute it takes to be the greatest bodybuilder who ever lived.”

Shawn Perine - Flex, July 2007 p. 207

"After all, he's still, even at 43 yrs old, eight-time Mr. O Ronnie freakin' Coleman. Which is to say, arguably the best bodybuilder who has ever lived."

Greg Merritt - Flex, July 2007 p. 212

"Coleman is only two years older than the new Mr. O (hypothetical article saying if Toney Freeman won), but time stops for no man, including the greatest bodybuilder who ever lived."

Jim Stoppani - Flex, July 2005

"Has anyone ever displayed a more muscular, more shredded, higher-quality physique than a 247-pound Ronnie Coleman at the 2001 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic?"

Reality is an individual construct, meaning that you shape your own perception of what truly is real. The fact is we have no idea what reality is. As well, there is no such thing as fact in bodybuilding as it is a 100% subjective sport. What you see as better, I see as inferior. And I can tell you that many others see it the same way that I do  ;)

Thanks for proving my point there. Yates is bigger, better, and his stomach is FLAT during the pose, not bulging out like a balloon.

There are no pics of Yates that are better than this. You can argue that in one of his best poses, Yates is comparable but better, nah.

The name-calling is terrible, on the other hand you are in fact an annoying dipshit nationalist with a severe bias & lack of balanced perspective.

Hope this helps.

its funny how the nuthuggers go on about how "small' Ronnie would be compared to dorian in his AC form.

yet, the mans arms, quads etc. were totally massive.

just goes to show you that the extra weight dorian carried was likely not from muscle mass, but rather a heavier bone structure with way more weight in the (super thick) midsection.

I mean, look at the SIZE of this man's arms: :o

A lot of the keg's weight was in that chunky silouette, wide waist and thick bones with relatively insignificant tapers.

Minimal tapers, wide waist and bones doesn't exactly spell classic BB.

This is the 1st time I've seen this relative point brought up. I have always thought that
Dorian was thicker boned than Coleman therefore Ron would carry more muscle at the same weight.
Example 1993yates vs. 1999coleman 257pds.

As a good example would be Gunter in the below pic at 290-295
and Arnold @ 235-240. Gunter may have more muscle in his legs
but not a 50 pound difference. The difference is in bone structure.
They were both the same height.

awesome pics guys.

yet again, we can see how much of dorian's extra weight was NOT lean muscle mass.

I mean, here we have the petite 247 pound Ronnie displaying traps that were bigger than dorian ever presented.
never mind bigger arms..LOL

Amazing that Ron weighed the same at the Arnold 2001 AC
as he did @ the 2002 Olympia.
Cutler really missed his chance in 2002. He had the heat
and Big Ron was off..

Outrageious tapers from huge muscle bellies to smallish joints is arguably the most defining factor in BB greatness. Oliva for example. the 2 best BBs of the last 25 years or so Wheeler and Coleman late 90s. Robinson, Fox, Nubret, Schwarzenegger, Padilla.

Gunter & Ferrigno couldn't compete with Schwarzenegger on this; their muscle volume relative to height and bone structure wasn't sufficient, aside from other factors.

The lack of dramatic contrast between muscle size and bones is something that Schwarzenegger mentioned in the 90s, referring the negative trajectory of BB in general and Yates indirectly.
