Matt his waist was anything but ' dainty ' in 2003 it may be narrow but some points to ponder it was at among its all time biggest for him , see the picture I post for a real dainty waist and he's far from being a little less dry than Dorian he's soft and holding water

Coleman has a small waist in that example, terrible case being made.

Now *here* is a wide, blocky waist and H-taper...

Put another way: there has never been a bodybuilder over 260 in the condition Ronnie was in and with a waist as small as he had.  260 is definitely officially "mass monster" status, and Ronnie was 287 and far harder than anyone else who has ever been that weight (two examples would be Nasser and Markus Ruhl) and his waist for that size was small.  You have to look at it relative to his competition.  It is possible that Dennis Wolf matches or surpasses Ronnie in the time to come though!

Small waist? he didn't have a small waist at 247 pounds and you think its small at 260 plus? it's narrow but protrudes due to his short torso , small waist doesn't equate to much when its lacking in detail and separation and sticks out.

No they didn't have a similar look , Flex had aesthetics Coleman never had them

Ronnie did have aesthetics in most of the mandatory poses, sans the front double biceps, in my opinion.  However, the classical "aesthetic" poses perfected by those like Bob Paris, Shawn Ray, Milos Sarcev, and Flex Wheeler, Ronnie could never really pull off from any pictures I have seen.

Examples: front relaxed pose, and also this classical pose:

Actually you already know that they had a similar look, in the late 90s comparisons. Desperate example there.

I've heard he weighed 215 @ the 93 AC.
Add 5 pounds for the Olympia making him 220.
I just read in his book that he said he weighed 246 for
the 1999 O; his biggest ever. That would be 26 pounds
unless he weighed more at the 93 O or Flex was lying
in his book.

Here's a little lesson for pumpster, the kid who's never been to a BB contest LOL

V-taper and ripped to the bone. Drier than a bone in the desert.

H-taper. Fat and holding more water than Lake Michigan. (notice the fat bulging obliques LOL)

No they didn't ever see the top 20 most aesthetic list? Flex is on it and guess what Ronnie is no where to be found , old news Ronnie was never aesthetic both had great symmetry but there is more to aesthetics than a small waist and joints , you'd know this but you don't know much .

You also can't make a judgment of size difference
based on one pic.

ND,

Ronnie won all the abs and thigh challenges in 2004 except to Jay!  Read my article on the flaws of the 2004 Mr. Olympia challenge round!!  I believe you will consider it fair and unbiased.  ;)

Matt Im glad you think the FDB is one of Ronnie's worst poses too...
I never understood why people think he looks great..
In that pic with Nasser, he looks so fucked up it's not even funny.

I'll tell you why these idiots think his front double biceps shot is the greatest , arms and small waist and quads and they will overlook everything else wrong with it , they focus on what they like .

At 287 pounds, being a little less dry than a 257 Dorian is acceptable!

A little less? :-\ Dorian's conditioning 1993 vs Ronnie's 2003 is like that of an off-season bodybuilder compared to a contest ready one. Ronnie still didn't look as conditioned as Dorian even in 1998 when he was 248 or 249 lbs, so that tells you just how monstrous the difference in conditioning is between Dorian 1993 and Ronnie 2003. I have already told you that Ronnie 2003 only had about 15 lbs of muslce over Dorian 1993, with the rest being fat and water. Factor in Dorian's better symmetry and you have a winner, and his name isn't Coleman.

I have always wondered why Coleman's lats don't
flare out like crazy in the FDB shot. I've always wondered with those
huge lats why he didn't have that super flared look that Arnold, Haney
and a young Dillett had. Any idea why anyone?

Extremely short torso coupled with a high lat insertion make him look extremely strange in the fdb.
Coupled with bi's too big for everything, huge quads, no calves, short shitty abdominal structure, create one of the least imposing FDB's ive ever seen.

Bada Bing! I think you hit the nail on the head. Arny and Dillett
neither were known for huge lats yet flared incredibly in the FDB.
Both had pretty long torsos though.

This is all subjective and Arnold was the standard bearer for me as to what
bodybuilding is about. When I first saw those Yates pics back in 93 I was very impressed with the
size with conditioning but my first thought was that he looked like a big powerlifter
who had gotten ripped. (Not what bodybuilding meant or still does for me.)

its mainly his posing.

when he flares them properly they look just like Haneys:
