Trump lost. No question. Anyone at this point claiming Trump won is giving away their ridiculous bias. Coach... no offense. We love you, hope you're doing ok but seriously, your posts carry no weight, even among the Trumpsters
The Vance Waltz debate. Not so clear. If I was watching the debate without any background I would say tie. Hell, even maybe Vance edged out Waltz on smoothness.
But given I am aware of Vance's previous stances and statements... I give a slight edge to Waltz.
1. Vance at one point compared Trump to Hitler. He had to swallow that. Waltz did not have a similar situation
2. Vance asked point blank if Trump lost the election, he demonstrated he was a Trump lap dog and would not have the fortitude that even Pence demonstrated sticking to the constitution against Trumps insistence he trash it.
But overall it was refreshingly cordial, and a breath of fresh air. Both guys are probably decent, but the evidence shows Vance was willing to eat crow to get on the ticket. Not a good look for me.
1. Vance's answered this easily. He said he fell for a lot of the rhetoric perpetuated by the media, and that he was WRONG. This question and answer actually made him look good. Politicians rarely admit mistakes.
2. Yes, he didn't answer that question because he couldn't, considering his boss. It would have been fodder for the rest of the campaign. However, it did not give Walz a victory. If it was one ding on Vance, that was it. But compared to Walz:
- looked nervous and gave a horrible answer on his lie about being in China - so bad even SNL used it in their opener
- gaffed huge on the school shooter
Either way, what was obvious was Vance was the leader in the room - he set the tone, he appeared confident, was articulate, kind, empathetic, strong etc....he actually help Walz get over his nervousness. He looked like someone who could handle the situation room, whereas Walz did not.
As far as the "eat crow", Harris railed against Biden in the primaries, saying he was against busing and worked with segregationists. Her answer to this after she accepted his VP offer was "it was a debate". Compare that with Vance's answer.
Trump did lose the debate on substance because he....well, acted like him. But in the bigger picture, the moderation was so completely biased, it exposed the media even more. Trump lost it more than Harris won it. Nobody still can explain what they like about her and why they think she'd be a good leader.
