It's not dumb luck to get a degree in Political Science, a law degree, pass the BAR, a career as a prosecutor, served as the district attorney of SF, then Attorney General for California, elected to the US senate and then the vice president and could be the POTUS.

A stupid person doesn't do all that with dumb luck and to think so is ignorant or a great example of one's bias clouding their judgment.

This doesn't mean she will be a good president, but to call her dumb or stupid is silly.

My paternal grandfather who graduated from Harvard Law was able to practice law anywhere in the U.S. which means he passed the bar in multiple states. He specialized in corporate law.  Who knew he was so smart? Unfortunately, I didn't inherit his high degree of intelligence or I am an underachiever since I never took the bar exam or even hankered to become an attorney.

There is also the issue of degree.  To what degree are we saying someone is stupid? 

Kamala is likely not a stupid person. She may say stupid shit.  She may talk out her ass sometimes.  She may comment on things she knows little about.

Lots of people fail the BAR their first time.  That doesn't mean they are stupid.

You and I would have to spend some time with Kamala to know if she was truly stupid.  It doesn't take long to be around someone, as you probably know, to figure out if they are stupid or not.

That can be said.  A person can be pro-second amendment but also be pro-heavy regulation.  The question of banning a particular firearm is subjective.   It's extreme and unrealistic to say, that all firearms should be permitted under the Second Amendment which would for example include .50 cal machine guns.   Harris saying they should be able to come into a person's house and inspect their firearms is fucking unconstitutional and is a stupid comment.  Politicians commonly make stupid comments.  That doesn't mean they themselves are stupid.  It means their views can be extreme, unrealistic, and pandering to their base.

Based on the purity of the "shall not be infringed" part, some firearms are infringed.  Seems like automatic weapons made before 1986 are legal to own while those made after aren't always legal.

I believe in some regulation, not all, for guns.  I am NOT for repealing the 2nd amendment and many people feel this way.

I know you're not for repealing it, but legal vs. the Constitution are two different entities especially when it comes to the Second Amendment. I would argue that most laws infringe on Second Amendment rights when it comes to law abiding citizens. Just because its a law doesn't mean it's just.

I agree about degrees.  Take Kamala Harris.  She is smart enough to win political elections.  She is clearly not smart enough to be POTUS.  And we know that by actually listening to her talk, seeing how her mind works, and how she processes information.  She is unable to think on her feet.  She has trouble processing information in the moment.  When off script, she constantly uses filler words and repeats what she says; constant word salads.  When we add her dishonesty into the mix there is only one reasonable conclusion.   

It's an oversimplification to say that someone who obtains high office cannot be stupid. 

Do you think Hank Johnson is stupid?  No smart person would ever think that the island of Guam will tip over because there is too much military equipment on the island.
