Actors of the Hollywood heyday had a mystery about them, they seemed special

Actors these days just sell themselves and dont care what roles they take, even resorting toi shitty TV commercials

Social media posts really exposed them as non exceptional. Same with athletes.

I'm still trying to figure out the "racist" part  ???

I'm trying to rehabilitate the term racist. John Wayne was a racist. But you invariably get guys saying he was no racist, or Trump isn't a racist, even here.
I better hope Wayne was a racist and that Trump is a racist. Racism today is the sin of noticing, noticing that race is real and that differences, whether positive or negative, exist, we aren't equal. Racism isn't necessarily about mistreating others.

n. 1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others. 2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

And just the belief that race is a valid way to characterise people, that it's real. "There is only the human race!" If you claim otherwise, even if you're technically right, you are engaging in scientific racism and that is bad.

next time someone tells you they are not racist ask them what race they would rather be and why

See if they can tell you without making a claim that one race is superior to another
