The US fired about a dozen interceptors at Tuesday's barrage of Iranian ballistic missiles fired at Israel, the Pentagon says.

US President Joe Biden said the US "actively" supported Israel's defence at his direction. He said he had spent the morning in the Situation Room - the White House hub for handling serious national security issues.

The Israeli military said about 180 missiles were fired at Israel, most of which were intercepted.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has defended the attack, calling it a "decisive" response "in defence of Iranian interests and citizens".

It was early in my time zone, on my x feed I saw only people retweeting the video of missiles against night sky. On google the articles had paywalls or showed similar footage….. the simplest answer is often the truth mate.

Why I said to wait is simple. The actual damage needs to be assessed so the size of response can be estimated.

The reality is inflationary wave 2 from oil sanctions utterly wrecks 95% beyond what they think is possible. We will get sent into a recession in 2027. Total carnage. That’s without even having WWIII…….

Both sides of the media definitely have their share of misinformation. The first reports I saw on CNN claimed there was no significant damage and no casualties, but those stories have since disappeared. No retraction, just poof, they're gone.

I did come across an Israeli explanation stating that even after missiles are intercepted, you might still see them falling. That makes sense to me, though I’m no expert. Plus, if 80% of the 200 or 500 missiles, as reported by foreign media, actually got through, wouldn’t we be seeing reports of massive casualties?

I believe Israel wanted to preserve the perception of having an impenetrable defense system and tried to manage the media to support that narrative. Then they realized they couldn’t fully control the situation. While I do think more Iranian missiles got through than they’re willing to admit, I don’t believe it was as high as 80%.
