Steady training for anything up to a half marathon really brings out leg definition.  It’s also hard on the quads and hamstrings, so training legs is not done as frequently when training for a race. 

It’s great for cardio too.  Not warming up is a mistake, though.

I don’t give a fuck about plastic trophies. What I care about is being able to run and play soccer with my kid. That is what I trained legs for when I said I played soccer with my kid I meant it. This is what I trained to do this is why I put my knees through it this is why I train legs. Mission accomplished

No warmup no stretch just decided to give it a try. I have not run this far in over 2 decades.  The backyard is so inviting I may add sprints to my program. Almost surprised it felt good. I want to get a sled. I hope it won’t tear up the grass.

When I did wind sprints on the track with my then training partner who was also into running (I always hated running,and never got into it) I dusted him off every time and he always got pissed afterwards, and he was fast, but not quite fast enough...........plus I was around 56-57 years old.

I had always destroyed my legs in the gym though they looked terrible,but those wind sprints got me so sore for days and my leg training at the time was heavy as well as intense.......I had a different kind of deep soreness from the sprints.
