Hankins YOU have shit talked for over a year that you could deadlift 500 "WITH EASE"
That was your claim. You also claimed your grip is your "strongest link" and yet you use straps. Everyone's weakest link on the deadlift is their grip, especially you. You have never lifted anything heavy and your grip is weak. Your wrestling clearly did not give you the grip strength to lift 500 pounds in the deadlift. Just own up to it. Be honest with yourself for once.
YOU are the one that has to back your claim that you made over a year ago. No one else. You also say you have "never missed a lift". Who the fuck says something like that? All that means is you have never pushed yourself to your maximum ever. If you go for a conventional deadlift of 500 pounds from the floor with no straps you will fail. You don't have the pain tolerance to handle that. You have been delusional about your abilities all along. Have the honesty to apply the word "delusional" to yourself or else actually back your claim.
I can even predict your sissy cop out response: "YOU go for it". YOU made the claim Hankins. I have a saying, "You make a claim, you back it up". You make all kinds of absurd claims and the only one you ever backed up was your bench press. You fear the no straps 500 lb conventional deadlift from the floor more than you fear Josh. You won't even try to go for it after all your shit talking and delusion.
I was 230lbs when I said I thought I could do it and I was talking a trap bar. I never said with ease I even gave myself odds also who says I can't? I do think I can potentially hit 500 but I am going to do 450 first. Unfortunately, I only have one workout left. I am not going for both I need to pick one. Also, absolutely I have a very strong grip I would put money on my grip strength over anyone here that doesn't mean I am going to pull without straps.
I have never missed a deadlift or squat in my life. I have never not come back up. I have missed bench presses. I have missed curls. I have never missed an attempted squat or deadlift. I also have not attempted a max deadlift in my life. I did 425 to show more was possible and to update the odds that doesn't make it my max. I absofuckinglootely have more in me I did not hitch but I am not pulling 2 days in a row.
Updated Odds and confidence level after 425lbs
Trap Bar
450 99%
500 85%
Straight Bar
450 90%
500 30%
I just dont feel my legs working at all on the straight bar like I did with the trap bar going to bring feet closer and try that
I also could not move my fucking arm a couple weeks ago and have been taking it easy. I am currently 210lbs not 235lbs that makes a difference
