I like his new show Tulsa King.
It's corny but he's good in it.
I watched the first season on the background while doing something else.
Started very promising with the first episode and got super annoying quickly.
I can't stop looking at Sly's wig... it's fucking outrageous.
The black kid is extremely annoying, you just want to smash his fucking face in. Every stereotype of a black wannabe hood rat is worked in. He also tries to do a Denzel Washington impression from Training Day at times that falls flat on its face.
The ATF lady, his "love interest" is a bad actress. Bad, bad actress and badly written too. Their romance feels artificial, "wooden". Manufactured. Ain't buying it, mate.
His mafia family back home? Plastic little gangsters, even though the actors are very good. Dominick Lombardozzi who has been in the Wire and lots of Scorcese films. Vincent Piazza who was Lucky Luciano in Boardwalk Empire. There is just not much there in terms of writing. They are good actors, so they do a lot with the crap material they have.
Can't believe that it was written by Terrence Winter who did the Sopranos. I guess they didn't have a lot of time, they did it on the hoof and is probably aimed at a specific "target" audience who find crap like this entertaining.
**Edit**
Has some funny dialog though. Sopranos level funny.
"How did you find me?"
"I just set my GPS to dumb ass mother
fucker"
"You got a problem?"
"I got serious problems mother
fucker"
"You ever been on a horse?"
"You ever been on life support?"
"I'm calling the police!"
"Here, let me get the phone for you!" (smacks him with the phone)
