Asks how many chins can be done.

It's explained that those are pullups, not chins.

Goes right back to calling them chins.

Or am I the one confused?

I have always called them chins, everyone I know calls them chins, no one ever says pull-ups
To me a pull up is when you do them like a curl grip, you "pull up" with your biceps

played rugby from 20-23, played at school as well

Really enjoyed rugby, I stopped because your acheivements were based on a team effort, the result wasnt fully in your control, with bodybuiling it was just me.

You could play your socks off at rugby and still lose, you could also have a shit game and do fuck all and still win.

Last game I played I went to a new much better club, I trained with the juniors because I couldnt train with the senior team because I worked their training nights

I turned up at the club house for the game Saturday and the coach said to me "you are playing today"
Half an hour later he came back over and said, " X has turned up so you wont get a game now"
That was me done, I never played another competitive game of rugby, I threw myself into bodybuilding

Having to work yourself into the team is actually one of the best character building parts of team sports for kids. They learn to accept that the world doesn't revolve around them and that they have to work hard to become part of the team.

You would have been better suited to martial arts than bodybuilding. Your hate for people would work like steroids do in bodybuilding. Just have to imagine the prick in front of you asked you to take off your shoes

yep they be chins here in UK maybe it's the Americanization difference.

Like you I'm picky about who I talk to - can't stand loud mouths or
Idiots.
I live alone, train alone & most of the Time work alone, suits me fine.

G.A,

I believe this may be the case of an old world/new world nomenclature misunderstanding.

If you think that’s bad, hear this; the last time I was ‘cross the pond and in need of goods and services, I went to the currency exchange and handed them hard-earned American greenbacks. Lo and behold some old hag speaking with a gibberish accent handed me some funny money monopoly bullshit with someone’s grandmother on it. Unbelievable. Hardly a fair trade but the locals accepted it as a bartering icon. I believe their dentists only accept rocking horse manure as payment though. Not certain they get a lot of work.

Anywho, I start every back day with a 12/10/8 set of pull ups. I also incorporate the same into my chest day, between doing flat work and incline work.

I could probably rip out 25 or so. Maybe 30. I’m also 20+ years younger than the bulk of you guys.

Happy thanksgiving to the bros.

Nothing wrong with being introvert.
Only reason why I’ve purchased head phones for the gym were annoying gym goers and fags that are there for chit chat.

why did you stop?
artificial hip infection-open heart surgery-torn rotator cuff- burst appendix. I had to tone it down after that.

Am up to 7 reps now

I do them at the end of my upper body workout
Assisted pull ups and dips, lateral raises, then biceps and triceps

I wait around 5 mins to let the pump ease off a bit then go for my set

I managed 7, then 4, then 3

Struggling with chins at the moment, feel like Im going to rip my biceps and shoulders.
Havent done them for a while

Settting myself a goal of 20 chins by the time I turn 60 next July

How many consecutive chins can you guys do and how old?

First thing is lose some fucking weight   ;D

Brian, fuck off its not for you...

If your body is giving you signs of danger, you should listen to it. We are not 20yo anymore, and recovering fully from a tear at your age is nearly impossible. And for what?

Im working through it and strengthening the areas with assisted movements
Its not like Im trying to lift 600lbs in a deadlift, its doing a pull up.

Answer me this, how many people do you know who have torn a muscle doing bodyweight excercises?

In just a couple of weeks I feel much more comfortable doing the movement

any exercise can cause an injury not just weight training. A tennis player can pull a muscle .. a runner can pull a muscle...
OK not like tearing a pec off like in a Bench press but anything can happen.

Just take your time and allow the connective tissues to toughen up.

This takes a bit.

I know, but thats not the question I asked

"How many people do you know who have torn muscles doing bodyweight excercises?"

I have hurt my back putting a tin of soup in a shopping trolley, a back spasm.
