Resurrecting an old topic. If tracking macros, for most precise measuring, weigh meats uncooked or cooked? I think cooked as water content can differ, and chicken for example is often injected with water.

dropped 9 kilos now can only get 12 reps as opposed to 14 when heavier

Lost strength with the weight cut

I trained once with Bostin Loyd in 2015. He could not do a single, strict pull-up if his life depended on it.

He's dropped a bit of mass now, maybe he's repping out with the Pope.

Be careful and start slow - massage and fascia release is a must at an older age.
It's of course better to be able to do 60 at 20 but whatever floats your retirement boat.

Why not start at 100 and work backwards?

I do lots of wrist and shoulder warm ups, a few 60 second hangs (its a killer doing those)
I then warm up with band assisted pull ups

there are way less people who can do 20 at at 60 than 60 at 20

Should be do-able, barring injury.

You may be trying to progress too quickly.

Like you said you did 14 max.

So, take 60% of 14 which is 8.

Do 5x8

Next do 98888

Next do 99888

Eventually 99999

Then do 10,999

Etc.

Even this may be too fast a progression.

Should be do-able, barring injury.

You might need to do more volume.

Like you said you did 14 max.

So, take 60% of 14 which is 8.

Do 3x8 for 3 workouts

Next 3 workouts do 9,8,8

Next 3 do 9,9,8

Next 3 do 999

Then 10,9,9

Etc.

Slow progression.

Next day do 9,8,8

looks good, will give it a go this week

I just changed it a bit.

The initial sets in the progression should be very do-able without affecting cns.

that maybe doable for someone at 20 trying to do 60

Adjust it to yourself.

If 5x8 is too much you could start at a lower rep range like 5x5.

4x5 with 10kilos added

6 sets dips repped out 20-12 reps

6 sets press ups with handles hands just above waist and lift feet off floor for a second on the upward press (building strength to work towards this
