so those big plates must be 50kg each, guess we have to take his word for it.
Have many in my gym, rubbered. They weight 20kg, about 45lbs.Hence the reason i said he is squatting 300lbs.

Collars weigh 11 lbs?

Some of the spinlock and heavier and powerlifting types go 10-11lbs -

.

.

The idea being, that all together the collars and bar weigh exactly 55lbs in competition. Even though Americans think of the bar as #45lbs,  usually they wind up being #44lbs/20kg so they can be marketed in the US and metric countries. Occasionally a maker will make a true #45lb bar.

I looked a bunch, and can't figure out the type he's using.

Not sure how that's 470 lbs.

Let's assume all four plates are all 45-lbers (hard to tell, there are at least three different styles of plates there) and that the bar's 45.  Where's the other 65 lbs?  That one smaller plate on the end is 32.5 lbs ???
he is legit and all weights are I've been following him for over a year.

also he just posted this from a public gym so should clear doubts

Generally I don't give fake plates a second thought, for strong lifters it's matter of honor. Yes really.

Seems legit guy but he is benching more of those big plates than on the squat bar.

I believe the old York collars with the thumbscrews on them weighed 5 + 1/2 pounds a piece.

The old York deep dish plates were the shit.

Whatever happened to 100 pound plates......a bitch to load a bar, but great for super strong guys......I haven`t seen any in many years.

We have 50kg/110lbs Eleiko plates. I could lift one in one hand for like 40 seconds, my buddy did 90 seconds. Just a thin lip on one side, scary amount of pain  ;D Never saw anyone budge it on first try.

They still show up a little here and there, but when they started moving to the thin calibrated plates, they started to disappear. A lot had to do with the loaders, both in OL and PL. Many can't handle the 100s or 110s, and would rather load two 45s and a ten or two 55s, etc....

They also stopped using the green 55kg plates in OL competition back in the 80's because a lot of guys just didn't like how they felt during the lifts. But they might come back, they're running out of bar space for some of the bigger lifters, so there's a pitch to bring the 55kg plates back or make a new weight size.

I think the Paralympics have experimented with #60lb plates at a few competitions.

Thanks BB......nowadays I see people with a ton of light bumper plates that weigh 10 or 25 pounds which looks heavy so they can get an ego boost when in reality it`s pussy weight.....fucking snowflakes!!

If those plates are the same as my gym, he has no more than 300lbs on his back. Still decent given the amount of reps.

You can easily tell by the way the bar is bending under the weight that it’s 400+ pounds.  Looks like 2 45lb bumper plates, 2 regular 45s, a 25 and maybe an extra 5 or some small plate.

I’m gonna give the guy the benefit of the doubt and assume he didn’t lie about having an extra 15lbs on there for no apparent reason

Some still prefer squat boots, sold on powerlifting sites.

He looks like he's wearing cuban heels or cowboy boots

Here's 495x20.

I still can't make sense out of the plates.  His left side (viewer's right) looks like it has six plates, two very thick ones (nh) then a slightly less thick one, then a very thin one, then two normal-looking cast-irons.  The left side just looks like five 45s which would be 495 on a 45-lb barbell.

I assume he's using some clips here with the bar bending that much but hard to tell for sure with the potato video quality.

He also has the (outer one, at least) plate facing inward on the bar which is atypical.

Not saying the guy isn't strong, clearly he is, just some weird-looking setups here.

I've done 225lbs. for 100 reps and 300lbs. (it might've been 315lbs. but I am almost certain it was 300!) for 50 reps.   My last day in a gym I trained at I did 515 for 20, 535 for 20, 585 for 5 and then back down to 515 for 20.  I changed gyms and they didn't always have enough weight so I just did more reps.  Leg extensions were done with up to 750lbs.  Two coaches estimated my max squat to be at least 700lbs. but to be honest I never tried as I preferred lighter weights for high reps so that I wouldn't be injured.

495 X 20 is nothing on Getbig.

Shit we have guys here who bang out 65 reps at well over 500 lbs in just 4 sets.

actually to be serious you can probably count on one hand how many in the entire world who can do that right now.

a guy just reppin that out in his garage gym, not even knee sleeves is pretty crazy.

Since The Scott can't remember if it was 300 or 315, maybe he is also misremembering some details on doing 65 reps with an average of 526 lbs.

Unlikely: his memory is incredible. He did say he was on 3 gallons of milk and whipping cream at the time, which is basically nature's steroids, so that probably helped a shit-load.

4 plates a side + bar is 404 + 11 collars is 415
Add two 25s is 465
Miscellaneous plates 2x2.5?

Oh well hold on now, that changes everything.

I was always told the anabolic sweet spot for whole milk was 2.24 gallons.

It’s no wonder more Getbiggers aren’t putting up world record numbers in their everyday home workouts.

MAXX I don't think there's ever been anyone who could do that, don't forget, there were 750lbs of leg extentions as well. Poor Tom Plats could manage a couple of reps with 250lbs, here's this guy who adds abother 500lbs lol. Was the post some kind of super trolling, or shitposting or even delusion, what's the explanation? ;D

But then again he used to be a black dwarf. Coach says he's met The Scott, maybe others as well.
