I am on the fence about them, but fiscal policy has me with my back against the wall. My concerns:
-range and charging issues
-fire hazard
-possible health effects from electro magnetism
-maintenance and repairs
-resale value

Only gay if you drive one to “Law School” when you’re 50.

Then they are GAF !

I’m not ready yet. Cancelled my Cybertruck because it was ugly as fuck. As for the better looking EVs, I’m not stopping to charge every 200 miles on a trip. That’s gay and inconvenient.

Say it ain’t so Rambone? You had a cybertruck on order?

Naaaaah just a $100 deposit. I could’ve ordered it in early October. I put the deposit down when it was around the time of the BLM riots and dindus standing in the road. I wanted the stainless steel and the impact windows.

White people in Chicago could learn something from this.

I have actually been pretty keen on Hydrogen engines the last few months.  I am thinking of investing in the tech we have a nearly unlimited supply of hydrogen, and it is clean. We already have patented hydrogen engines coming out of Europe. I am not so sure we will be going electric. Hydrogen may be the future.

I was at General Motor's Milfred proving grounds in 2005. At the time they had hydrogen fueling stations and were working on hydrogen powered vehicles.  I was excited that we were going in that direction. Twenty years later, and nothing.

I feel a lot of cognitive dissonance. Several elements at play in my mind:
-the crushing weight of unscientific climate agenda and fiscal policy (zero % tax deductibility for ICE company cars and high taxation)
-my concerns about the health effects of sitting on a huge battery
-on the other hand; my concerns about exhaust fumes leaking into the interior of ICE cars and their health effects

I am not super concerned about range as I have a parking space at home where I could install a wall charger.

I don’t own one, but I’ve ridden in a few of my friends’ cars, and I like the technology. With fewer moving parts, they should have fewer mechanical issues. That said, I don’t think I’ll buy one for myself until they offer better range and more convenient home charging options.

Nerds has been talking about that since decades mostly to sound smart and cutting edge imo(as you do now)

It's not the future.Hydrogen stations are stationary bombs basically first off. As are the cars themselves. It's too complicated. and that drives up the price of the cars. The biggest country on EV's (cars per capita) Norway, the have been tried have been a massive failure so far. Too many points of failure aswell. Its an electric car essentially paired with the hyrdogen tech(expensive and complicated).

Also lets not go in to the fact that the difficulty and cost of harvesting hydrogen and transport it from point to point makes it a no go from the start.

Essentially you don't know what you're talking about as usual.

do you have any proof that humans are effected by sitting on an isolated battery?

sounds more like the people that put tinfoil on their heads when cellphones came about....

How you feel about them doesn’t matter; they are here and they are the future.  You can hold on to a past mindset if you want to but that simply means you represent the past.  Both my vehicles are ICE but my investments are in electric car companies—mainly in China.  As I noted in another thread, China is the largest car market in the world and the majority of vehicles they make are now electric.  Nio, Leapmotor, BYD, SAIC, Xpeng, Li and so many more.  Even Tesla has been eclipsed by BYD in China.  If I buy a third vehicle in the future it will be electric.

They are the future and will eventually replace current internal combustion engine vehicles.

However, I hope motorsport will retain fuel-powered engines and also move away from the hybrid engine/battery 'power units.'

But unfortunately, even in Formula One the next set of regulations will decrease the prominence of the power from the fuel powered engine and have half the HP coming from the battery. Seems they could be trying to get viewers gradually used to a shift, until they eliminate the fuel engines completely.

Electric cars are extremely boring for motorsport from an entertainment perspective.

Formula 1 already is extremely boring so no problem if they add electric. Perhaps a few exploding batteries might finally give some excitement!

EVs have more software and electronics problems.
Woke Jaguar even had to buy back nearly 3,000 iPaces because they could not solve the chronic problems:
