"Jumbo Palumbo", The Dave Palumbo Vanity Project -
« on: April 04, 2025, 12:45:35 AM »
.

I'm not sure what they were hoping to do with this, and it's not good in the traditional sense, but has some very funny moments. It's a not too well knit together pastiche of Palumbo moments including -

A soul and rap soundtrack that includes such lyrics as "Everybody wants to be freaky" and "Every boy wants striated glutes".

Multiple times he tries to reassure himself and the audience he isn't ugly.

A couple of times he looks like he has Down Syndrome training.

He tries to explain "Palumboism". He gives Getbig no credit. He blames it on being large and not posing well due to injury. You can tell it hurts him.

Trains a schmoe with really bad hair. At one point, he goes something like "You can lose your wife, your kids, but training with Dave will make you feel great."

Dave cries about going to jail.

Dave chats up sushi girls.

Dave met his wife when she started messaging him trying to help him repair a blown quad. She's a P/T.

His giant feet are on display a few times.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was filmed after his wife left him, and you can tell he's a sad, lonely dude off camera.

He claims to have a small waist, "it's just that i have narrow clavicles and a short torso, giving the ilusion of a big gut"; "I have a smaller waist than Jay Cutler".

He can't decide what his legacy will be, but we all know that palumboism is what will make him unforgettable.

Yes, the lyrics are great.

This .

Who is this "movie' targeted for ?

"Everybody wants to be freaky"  is he serious? like Dorian or Ferrigno maybe ...... BUT not a single soul can aspire to look like him...

I mean,  in the bodybuilding community he is known for Palumboism worse genetics for bb and all you hear in the background of film a lady singing Yumboooo Palumboooo lol .....

Then you have the average dude not accustomed or remotely aware of Palumbo's deformity having Dave saying that he is not as good looking as Mike Otren but he found his talent." like if BB was a beauty pageant ....(totally misguiding)

Palumbo is hideous, even by bodybuilding standards... he looks like a reptile that sells snakes'

I was reading some comments on the chat:  is Jason Genova' biography next?
That sums it up .

The Genova doc they did a few years ago -

.

It's better. Now I can't decide if the guy is a bad film maker or Palumbo's just a bad / unwilling subject, or it's just that Genova and the Misfits were such a force of nature back then that it translated to film better.

---------------------------

Also lots of guessing that Dave has a pacemaker in the comments too, he might have to address this.

Palumbo is off the cliff delusional. His explanation for the famous "Palumboism" pic is pure psychosis.  Watch from 22:30 and on

does the documentary cover any of his escapades doing time in prison in upstate NY

i remember when he got out , MusDev had a column or page Palumbo would have , it took him a while to stop talking about prison

or better yet - they should have ‘victim’ testimonies from the bros he scammed with those hype’s

Wish it was possible to watch a Texas deathmatch between Palumbo’s pacemaker and Ferrigno’s hearing aid. Maybe advancements in AI will make this possible one day  ???

Starts at 38 minutes in. 38-40 minutes in is the meat of the GH talk. Basically he cries that he went to jail because someone ratted him out, and that he had a feeling the GH was bad, but he did it that one time, and it's embarrassing. Then he trails off and avoids anything more about it. Then he does the whole "steroids should be legal schtick, and he hopes that one day they will soon", and he gloats about planning his test crash so well that they hat to give him 200mg/wk during his stay.

I'm imagining Ferrigno's hearing aid winning, then out of nowhere, Flex's fake leg comes off the top rope, and crushes them both.

I thought it was done pretty well. The soundtrack was freaking hilarious.  I mean for what it’s worth. I thought it was decently done.

Better than a mits production

Yeah, I'm going to walk my criticism back a bit. This thing is becoming my Zapruder film. I'm watching little pieces, and looking at the filming and the cuts, etc...., and now I think Dave and filmers are working on two different ideas. Dave thinks this is a mostly serious look at his life. And the film makers are treating him like a goof. The old "sneak dis" as the kids say. I caught on when I rewatched the Palumboism part.
