Ya just know he hasn’t fixed his credit in years.  :D :D

Hope all is well buddy.  :)

I guarantee he never paid off that debt! And he has racked up more.   ::)

Five years ago.

I think BYD has more upside potential than Tesla right now.  Politics aside I do believe Tesla is a solid product but BYD has more room to grow and more quickly.  The market cap for BYD is $148 billion and rising; Tesla market cap is $770 billion and falling.

I already own Li, LeapMotor, Nio, and XPeng.

The left must be very happy about these developments. They will own nothing and be happy, right?

Lol, yes on 5 years ago, but I believe there's big upside if he disrupts the Uber/taxi market.

And yes on politics aside, since the hate on Musk is just dumb.

Was in Asia in February. The byds are everywhere for obvious reasons. Was talking to an uber driver who had a BYD he said he’s about 50-60% cheaper then a Tesla

I thought they had cool tech functions but cheaply built similar to Tesla’s

BYD is subsidized by the Chinese government. But apart from that it's avery impressive company.

I absolutely like and admire Elon, but Tesla was already in trouble:
Model X and S are old, expensive and problematic.
Model 3 is a low sedan, not much demand for that class of cars worldwide
So baiscally Tesla only has one model that does well and is in a prime part of the car market, the Y.

Cybertruck sells slow, and only in North America
The Semi is years behind schedule, production stopped for a long time, it seems now very slow production

The robot is extremely promising, Optimus Prime. But mass production and good profits could be many years away.
And China copies everything, so many robots from China too

Tesla home batteries, now there are many companies that make such energy storage. Still too expensive for 95% of consumers
But affordable on a larger scale for utilities

Tesla marker cap was higher than that of the ten largest automakers combined. Extremely overpriced imo.

Its PE ratio is absolutely appallingly expensive for what ostensibly currently amounts to a car company with some projects in the works in a practical sense

Elon needs to finish his 130 days and get some of this other stuff such as fsd and robotics to market at scale - or pull yet another rabbit out of his mercurial hat - posthaste

If you believe this is going to happen then now is definitely the time to buy; I do not subscribe to this and will place my money elsewhere.  Despite what I said above politics cannot be ignored and Musk is now toxic to his own brand in the US and Europe.  That has and will continue to impact the business and stock price. Politics was a big part of Tesla's rise. There are other places to grow your money.

Overall this is a great time to make lemonade out of lemons.  When markets crash on this scale it is an opportunity to enter and buy if you have been sitting on the sidelines.  If you are conservative there are plenty of safe points of entry.  I mentioned three in an earlier post.  If you are young and can tolerate risk you can make big gains over the short term.

Superhigh P/E is often explained by "analysts" who say Tesla is not a car builder but a tech company!
So it should have a much higher valuation.
I don't buy into that story as more than 95% of their revenue and profit come from building cars. (Selling emission rights to other car makers is also car related imo)

Take advantage of buying opportunities.  Don't need to make big bets but yeah, long term this is a good time to start buying.

I worked under John Bogle at Vanguard back in the late 80's. OK WAY under.  He was the real deal, down to earth.  Rare breed visionary.

He was still very lucid in his old age. His interviews would be the first thing I would show a beginner investor and tell them not to stray from what he teaches. I would have a lot more money if I just dollar cost averaged VFIAX/VOO from the start

You hypothetically have 50K you want to invest to take advantage of Trumps stupid tariff thingy. Where would you invest it in hopes of making lemonade?
