Incline Bench
« on: April 25, 2025, 06:24:22 AM »
This is why i still tell people to work upper chest as you age, Bill Kazmaier is a legend in weight lifting but look now at his chest.
Incline press & flys are king later on.

Didn’t Kaz just have an organ transplant? I wonder how much his body changed when he stopped using a massive amount of PED’s.

ageing has nothing to do with drugs & the most guys like him concentrated for most of their careers on flat benches.
Incline at a low angle is much more productive

to be fair it´s an old video but it does show how the over use of the flat press produces a heavy lower chest.
Rather than the flat press i would rather see more decline presses if anything or parallel bar dips.
My comment however is about ageing & sagging chests ( Arnold is a great example )
I use only Incline Presses & incline flys now.

Incline db chest press is the only chest movement one needs to do. If I was doing a second it would be the high cable crossover.

All of us look shittier as we age regardless the exercises we perform. Staying thin helps a little.

Joswift is correct in some ways but the fact is a sagging chest is mostly a result of a heavy bench press career.
regardless of opinions from so called experts the upper chest is still relivant

Heavy benching also causes shoulder problems.

Flat bench stimulates the pecs completely if done right. Incline brings the front delts in more.

STRONG AS HELL,,impressive and build as well, those eyes are vacant tho,,no way he carries a conversation with anyone unless its a about him,his longevity/greatness as it applies to lifting and all about his build and his theories.when you see him talk or react he's always has that no,no its not like that and you can do anything and be anything if you dedicate and put your mind to it 100 pct..no limits ,,drugs ehh  it all in the mind ...

So you think Kaz and Arnold look like they do today because the only did flat bench? You should post a picture of your chest to demonstrate how pecs should look as we age.

Wouldn't you say a sagging chest is mostly due to age, bodyfat and inelastic sagging skin?
The first aging sign on a competitive bb is at about 40 when there is, as almost a rule, a slight skin crease below the pec line. Muscle itself doesn't sag like that imo, it's the skin that's the problem, and the nipples that follow the skin, sometimes the nipples sag below the pec muscle, look at Romano. Muscle is never a weakness or bad, even lower pec muscle, the more the better as the skin sag will show more as muscle shrinks. Delay that age related sarcopenia as much as possible, take your test and GH and eat that protein :D

I flat benched so much and I mean 20-30 sets at a time for 20+ years and got very strong and my lower chest was huge. So much that I have pec sag now and I hate it. I’ve only been doing incline db presses for the last few years and it’s made a huge difference my chest looks way better and stands up a lot more.

the pec line starts disappearing with age, it happens to almost every senior bodybuilder
