Yes exactly, it works great to put you to sleep but can wake you up quickly as it gets out of the system. Which is why I like to pair it with a little diazepam or similar if available. Of course the benzos and the z-drugs like Stilnox (which are basically benzos) are bad for sleep quality in the long run. Sometimes my anxiety was real high to a point where I couldn't eat and taking a Stilnox allowed me to eat before going to sleep. Even if I didn't like or use these I'd always pick up a script and stock up for emergencies.

I use mirtazapine for sleep now.
