US economy
« on: September 06, 2025, 03:52:36 AM »
Lost jobs in June (first time in 4 years), only 22k in august, losing manufacturing jobs for 4 straight months, unemployment up to 4.3% thats pretty impressive the guy is outdoing himself! Job openings to unemployment ratio flipped, there are less new job opening. Dollar weakening, trade partners pivoting away, countries boycotting the states LOLOL

It's almost like you guys have a moronic vindictive sociopathic narc running the country. It's honestly pretty impressive to see what he has been able to accomplish in a few short months. Hows that isolationism going?

I believe it’s fairer to tax people based on their spending rather than their income. Tariffs offer a more equitable way for the government to generate revenue compared to income taxes. And they could have significant benefits. They could stimulate domestic industry by encouraging local production. Additionally, they might prompt other countries to lower their tariffs on our goods in response. Tariffs could also encourage consumers to be more mindful of their purchases. In my view, society isn’t frugal enough. Too many people waste money on new cars every three years just to keep up with their neighbors.

I won't try to defend his alt-coin shenanigans. I don't think it is right for the president to do that.

you see the world as all or nothing, everyone is shit, all politicians are the same, no one thing is any worse than any other thing. Actively grifting the public via shitcoins is next fucking level.

There are levels to this shit and he is top dawg moron.

Honestly you need to open your eyes and start thinking in grey scale cus your avoidance of thinking hard and in a nuanced way is simply apathy.

they are also a way shielding inefficient companies from competition allowing them to produce inferior products at higher prices
They also favour business that has minimal physical import input eg property development, finance computer internet
The present regime has the advantage of reducing /eliminating pesky Congress interference.
VAT is a better way to tax spending

Tariffs work for protectionism in specific areas like the dairy situation with canada for example, not broad blanket tariffs, that is inherently inflationary.

Tariffs will never work to replace income tax, its too variable and when it did work there was little to no infrastructure.

Is TDS and BDS just plain BS?

It is common for folks to complain about whichever politicians, regardless of their party affiliation, are in office at any given time. On average, only something like 4% of adults in the U.S. think the political system is satisfactory. Something like 72% of folks have a negative view of Congress.

Unfortunately, the majority of folks have a ‘negativity bias.’ When Biden was President, one could correctly note that most Getbig posters had BDS (Biden derangement syndrome). Now that Trump is back in office, anyone who disagrees with his policies supposedly suffers from TDS.

On the other hand, more than half of the American people have a more positive view of local politicians. I find this somewhat curious because often local politicians eventually become candidates for federal office; School Board members run for office as city and county commissioners who then become State legislators and some of these folks become Congress people.

TDS is real, and there's never been anything like it.

It's not simply just disliking a person in office.  It's shunning your friends, your morals, your objectivity, your, values your common sense, your dignity, etc....all in the name of hating a person.

It gives miserable or bored folks something to focus on.

And you know this - none of us 100% agree with everything this guy is doing.  But there's a point of being informed, and letting nonsensical stuff slide.  Like I started reading something funk posted the other day, got about 2 sentences in and was like "cubic zirconia cufflinks?"....yeah, fuck off, not wasting my time.

As far as the Chicago thing, I do know Trump's going back and forth with their mayor, but I can't take anything seriously until it happens.  At the end of the day, the Chicago dipshit morons replaced the putrid Lightfoot with an actual worse version, and so this is what happens.  The goal is to stop so many people shooting each other every weekend.  But that's not cool because Trump wants it.

And, you'd think the left has such a track record of being outright wrong about stuff, they'd learn.

But they don't.

ya man using the military against citizens and it will only be leftist run states, cities at that under the guise of law and order is totally fine

This is an actual post he made, fucking embarassing. It's embarassing that people excuse this behaviour.

Meanwhile, GOP run cites and states have more crime, but not a peep of course. I see you guys are fine with a vindictive petty manchild running your country.

If you are on the internet you know, there is literally no where this shit isn't posted.

He tweets stuff this to make folks like you react like you did.  Congrats, he owns you too.

But, once again, as far as being "fine with it"...what the fuck are we supposed to do?  I voted. That's it.  And I don't regret it at all, especially considering the alternative.

I'll let all you X Warriors tweet your days away, thinking you're making a difference.

But, if sending in the guard gets Chicago on the right path, have at it.  It might become a deterrent and get all these states, red or blue, to clean up their shit.

You say stupid shit just to get people to respond right? Trump isn't sending NG in to control/take over LE from leftist run states, only from cities. If those dem run cities actually enforced the law and kept their citizens safe, maybe the feds wouldn't feel the need to step in. Unbelievable that you faggot leftists are against lowering crime and making cities safer because Trump is behind it. I'm well aware that as soon as NG pulls out the shitty leftist liberal twats running these cities will just allow the crime to skyrocket as usual then try to blame Trump for the increase when in reality it's their own failures as leadership to enforce the law and keep the people safe. ::)
