You voted for Trump 3 times but call him a fascist?  That makes no sense.

People throw the word "fascist" around like its 1930's "fascism". It's the polar opposite

As long as the Ds hold on to "threat to democracy" "fascist" and "Trump is Hitler" this stuff will continue, as will their losing.  They need to disavow and condemn this and say "we should not have said that stuff."  Heck, some brave Democrat could come out and just call Kirk's murderer what he was, a scumbag.  Is that so hard?  The text exchanges show that what he cared about immediately after murdering a person for their beliefs was getting away with the murder.

Agreed. I also didn’t care for Bondi talking about banning hate speech, and I’m also afraid that these tranny fuckers are going to be the excuse for more internet screening. Probably will be the Patriot Act: Part Deux

Monitoring social media posts is taking place.

Amazed the Kirk death being a race issue for some. Someone shared a post where they highlighted comments Kirk said about George Floyd and how people are saying the same about Kirk but they’re being canceled. As if poor George was gunned down at a college event where the promotion of debate annd ideas were being discussed. I mean I get why people would think George was a hero with all the good he was doing in his community but I don’t know if Kirk saying, George was a scumbag and was no loss to society (based on his life) is the same as those who are celebrating the death of someone who was not a career who robbed a pregnant woman at gunpoint….

I’m saddened by the state of this country that everything can be turned into a race issue. Hopefully the Japanese Americans who were placed in internment camps during world war 2 are able to move forward.

After visiting this forum 2-3 x per week since 2010, one of the hardest assessment I’ve had to ask myself is whether the neurotic losers like iron falcon etc who burnt out and disappeared were better or worse than the remaining losers to refuse to fade away.

And it is posts such as these, along with the emotional attachment many have to the pillars of their argument.

Sunk-cost fallacy has steered many away from posting here, and it’s because of the lack of meaningful posts, with a preference towards re-hashing old grievances between middle aged + men on the internet, or posting absolutely unwanted posts I.e. mryorkilover and that fkn loser dj181.

I’m gonna give GB a break, it’s sad and old, only because so many posters are.

"free speech does not mean free from consequences" distinguishes between state-enforced punishment and social or private repercussions for one's words.

A person generally cannot be legally punished by the government for expressing unpopular or offensive ideas, BUT they are not exempt from societal, economic, or private-sector responses to that speech. This goes for the left or the right.

Freedom of Speech is only a protection from GOVERNMENT interference, not from your employer or anyone else.

Cancelling someone is one thing, but you should not downright lie about things

Lying should have consequences, like cutting of the tongue

Just like thieves should have their hands cut off and rapists should be castrated

Agreed.  In this case, the move came after the FCC chair Brendan Carr indicated ABCs broadcast license would be at risk over Kimmel comments.  Clearly a case of government interference, and it’s highly unamerican and unconstitutional.  Im glad to see other getbiggers like Wiggs and Dave D recognizing this tyranny for what it is.

As is often the case lately, I find myself agreeing with Tucker Carlson on the matter:

You have a duty as an employee to not bring the company you work for into

He lied about the shooters by saying he was MAGA

That could leave his employers open yo a law suit

A guy working for the same company as me had an argument on FB with someone and threw homophobic slurs at him.

He got fired
The reason he got fired is because he had the companies name on his FB profile, it wasnt about the comments he made per say , it was that he left the company no choice but to fire him because they cant have a homophobe on their books

the issue seems to be that as a private citizen you can say what you like.
However if you are employed by a company and they feel you have not adhered to their principles and ethics then they dont have to employ you

Seems reasonable to me

Oh so what you're saying is that it's ok to dig through people's Getbig posts, dox them and get them fired from their job for "hate speech." We all know there's no shortage of that here to include myself.

While you may not like it, and it comes off as off-color, there's nothing illegal about people expressing their feelings about someone, including, as you put it, championing or celebrating their death. While it's off color, it shouldn't be a fireable offense considering they did it on the internet on social media and more than likely on their own time.

I think you get much of this but what it's turned into is "my side" is in power now and we're going to make you pay. As I said, and neither you nor the other guy addressed (in fact, he deflected with another question), you have people on X, aka Twitter, creating databases and spreadsheets to dox other users and report them to their jobs and get them fired. These are ALL right wing MAGA clowns, the so called champions of free speech. The irony is ol' Charlie said himself, there's no such thing as "hate speech." These MAGA fucks are butthurt little sissies that are pissed their messiah got murdered and are lashing out in any way they can to feel vindicated. It's pathetic. They should keep that same energy when the left occupies the white house and pulls the same bullshit they do. Both sides are shit but MAGA are a bunch of little bitches from Trump on down.

While this whole thing has turned into one big kindergarten crying fight....I ask you these questions (and in no malicious or confrontational way...looking for your thoughts/opinion):

1) where were all of these people prior to him being killed?  Why didn't they "express their feelings" about wanting him dead?  Social media has upped the game on all attention whores.  They are so 'brave' to express their feelings online, did they express that same 'bravery' and say it at work, at school, in public?

2) If you are a business owner (lets say car dealer owner) and they are out there saying things like "Obama is a stupid ni**er and should be shot" online, in their own time and then there is backlash which causes your business to suffer (and potentially lose your affiliation with the major car company your dealership represents), how are you going to respond?   With a smile saying : that rascal...so full of energy!!

3) Do you NOT think both sides have their lists?  Think about the time Trump got blasted for his "pussy" comment.  Was that a right wing MAGA clown bringing that up?

Fuck politics....its worse than WWE wrestling and sports fans who will fight you if you like the opposing team.

You're correct that celebrating someone's death isn't illegal, and Jimmy Kimmel wasn't arrested. He was fired. While you argue it shouldn't be a fire able offense, private companies can terminate employees for actions that impact their bottom line. "At will" employment laws allow employers to fire you for any reason. Only certain classes like race, religion, and disability are federally protected. Not political opinions or expressions.

The real question is did ABC fire Kimmel because his statements hurt their profits? Or was it due to pressure from Trump? It’s concerning if a president uses their influence to pressure media companies into silencing voices. That is blackmail and undermines free expression. BTW it was also wrong of the Democrats to force manipulations to Facebook algorithms to suppress Biden's laptop etc. I think both sides play this game. Trump is just more blatantly obvious about it.

Great, then those who want to bitch about this can get in line and wait until all the lawsuits for Joe Biden and his utterly crooked government's interference with all the tech companies for the last four year before Trump (and even the Deep Staters like Bill Barr and Wray) are settled for telling X and Facebook and Google and the rest to cancel and censor Trump supporters or anyone who spoke out on Covid.

Just my personal opinion:  Trump and his administration currently have a very unique opportunity and the leverage to take vengeance on all these lefty scumbags (politicians, celebrities, businesses, etc.) and he's going for it.  Agree or disagree, for better or worse, that's what I believe is going on.  Maybe some of you here would do things differently if you were in Trump's shoes, or maybe you'd do exactly the same if not worse.

FCC doesn’t need to be involved at all.

The court system has already been dealing with this.

“In July 2025, Paramount Global agreed to pay Donald Trump $16 million to settle a lawsuit over a 2024 60 Minutes segment, with the money going toward Trump's future presidential library. This settlement followed a similar $16 million payout from ABC News in December 2024 to settle a separate lawsuit. ”
