As you can see from the other thread going on with the other forum, it isn't leftists that cover for the pedophiles and child molesters to the degree that conservatives and evangelists do. The evidence is there. I mean, the one law maker that actively changed the law for age of consent so his family member wouldn't be charged? That's fucked up. As far as the surgery issue goes, you are aware that the vast majority of surgeries require parental consent if the patient is under 18. This is all surgeries. Not just sex related ones. There are a few exceptions, namely in the case of life saving intervention or (rarely) an emancipated minor deciding for themselves. I am not sure what you consider "mutilation surgeries" to be in a factual context. If you have a link to one actually happening, then link it here. But some children do have surgery on their privates due to a variety of reasons. Saying "genital reconstruction" does not necessarily mean gender reassignment (sex change). To my knowledge, children can not get a sex change at all until they are 18 (I may be wrong on the age, but I am sure it is when they are considered to reach "adulthood") I do not think it would legally be possible for a parent to decide to change a child's sex through surgery. Nor do I think it would legally be possible for a child to get their parents permission to have a sex change surgery before 18. (again, the age may be different)
There are legitimate reasons for giving hormones and reconstruction surgery (not sex change reasons) to children depending on what the medical issue/problem is. The push back is that conservatives have now been wanting to limit access to legitimate medical treatment for some legitimate needs while masking it as child sex change notions. In short, it's perfectly legal for Will Smith to let his son walk around as a weirdo like he does, but neither Will nor his son can get a sex change unless the patient (his son) is 18 and considered an adult.
If there are documented cases where children were "mutilated" for sex changes and no other medical issues, please link them.
