Why are bananas on the chart? They are GMO sugar bars

And extremely high fiber- which negates the sugar content.

Upon further research, GMO bananas don’t currently appear to available at your grocery store.

Uhm...no.

A medium banana contains about 27 grams of total carbohydrates, but when you subtract the 3 grams of fiber, the net carbs are approximately 24 grams. The net carb content can vary slightly depending on the banana's size and ripeness.

Big if true, sounds like a lie though. Too good to be true. Bananas and all other sweet fruits like strawberries are like crack cocaine

To live off prime cuts of beef, wild salmon etc without any pasta, rice, potatoes to fill you up, would cost an arm and a leg. But sure, I believe that would get you ripped and healthy. If you overdo the protein you will nuke your kidneys though

No, the high fat content of the meat, eggs, etc. is very satiating.

The high carb foods cause the opposite effect.

I have not the same experience. I eat a lot of meat, eggs, cheese and occasionally shrimp, cook it always with grass-fed natural butter and shit like that. But I also eat a lot of spaghetti and rice along with those. Also I get constipate from meat/eggs/cheese only without rice and pasta. I make a lot of home made oven baked vegetable sauce as I hate eating raw vegetables

Uh yes:

These are just a few of the gazillion studies showing how fiber dimishes glycemic response.

24 net carbs in one banana is a lot of carbs

>

Bananas are generally not suitable for a ketogenic diet due to their high carbohydrate content, with a medium banana containing about 24 grams of net carbs, which can exceed the daily carb limit for most keto plans. It's better to opt for lower-carb fruits like avocados, strawberries, or raspberries instead.

The new food recommendations are better but still too lenient.
Most likely the need to pacify the corporate food lobbies entered into the result.

You are of course free to continue eating processed food garbage and lots of carbs and get fat and have Type 2 diabetes.

I don't think the Gary Taubes insulin model of obesity is scientific. Eating carbs obviously doesn't necessarily mean you get fat nor insulin resistant, not saying you claim this either, but you still might be slightly carb-phobic :D From what I can tell Type II diabetes has a bit more complex etiology than carb or sugar consumption per se. Protein causes insulin resistance too if you look at cellular mechanisms in studies, particularly the branched chain amino acids, which does not mean you in particular will get resistant if you eat plenty of protein. Context dependent obviously. I'm using some Toujeo basal low dose insulin at the moment for very theoretical reasons; paradoxically it's been shown in certain situations that it can even lower insulin resistance.

Retatrutide seems to be amazing for increasing insulin sensitivity. It's a weight loss drug but bodybuilders are experimenting with it now even in the off-season to get more out of their insulin use or to gain less fat when bulking. Here's one Type I diabetic pro bb:

So he has gone the eat loads of meat while at the same time meat prices are rocketing, farms are being sold off and increased restrictions on cattle farming globally.

WTF???

Are we going to continue to ignore thousands of years of skinny Asian rice eaters?

Asian rice eaters were skinny because they were starving.

Are they starving today?

Western obesity skyrocketed when we started adding fat into everything.

It's 2026 and the western public are still told confusing messages around our diet.

Isn't it simply calories in VS calories out while avoiding artificial additives, dodgy ingredients etc? I eat a lot of carbs and a lot of fat (mostly eggs, roasted chickens with the skin, meat, rice, pasta, butter, and occasionally olive oil) but I never became overweight
