Pretty much.  He was married, was dumb enough to send her text messages about much he wanted to hit it, and she later set herself on fire.  Gruesome.  He really needs to resign.

It was suicide so no I don't think he killed her.  Did his affair contribute to her state of mind?  I say yes.  He's a public figure.  I don't think we need any kind of purity test for people, but there are certain lines that shouldn't be crossed, like banging your young married staff member while you are married with six kids, and the staff member then lights herself on fire.  No way should this guy be a U.S. Congressman. 

Regarding Newsom, it was his campaign manager's wife.  That's not just best friend, but like a brother.

I have to disagree- Adults have affairs & its for them & their wives to resolve what happens.
As for his political career voters will have their say.

May of affected her.

I typically don't care what someone does in their personal life.  One of the exceptions for me involves people who are in positions of public trust.  I'm paying this guy's salary.  I don't want someone like him making decisions that affect my life if he is that reckless in his personal life.  Incredibly poor judgment.
