Mariah was the youngest of three children with a brother ten years her senior and a sister nine years her senior.
When she was three years old, there was a physical altercation between her dad and her older brother which caused her mother to call the police. That incident resulted in a breakup of the family with Mariah and Morgan, her older brother, staying with their mother and Alison, her sister going to live with her father in New York City.
Mariah's Mother was an Opera singer who went to Juliard on a full scholarship. When Mariah was four her mother was practicing an Aria and got stuck and Mariah finished the end of it. She would also sing the giggles on TV commercials.

At ten years old Mariah was sent to a singing camp where she sang the lead of Hodel on Fiddler on the roof.
