What would happen if you tried to curl something?

I partially tore my delt (I know, WTF?) doing heavy overhead presses six weeks ago.  It hurt like a son of a bitch, and I couldn't raise my arm without pain for a couple of weeks.  Still fucking hurts a bit.

My arm is all shriveled up now. No motivation to lift because I'm on the waiting list for surgery. Only the distal, outer part came off totally and in these cases you can recover most of your strength. I can lift with it but I feel a difference. I mostly want the surgery for aesthetic purposes as they are already very short and without surgery I will have an arm almost as bad as Dorians. My other arm was already torn the same way and I had successful surgery 8) But now it's questionable if they can attach it as so much time has passed and the muscle retracts :'(

If a muscle is torn in such a way you don't need or cant have surgery it's best to start working it immediately. I'm not an orthopedist obviously but I think that's the way to go so it heals the 'best way' :D

I have the bolt as well. He was very lucky and sounds like he was healthy and in good shape to recover. It’s a horrible injury. Mixed grip deads and preacher curls terrify me. The day it happened I remember being tired and dehydrated.

Mixed deads always scared me and I had maxed on deads almost every week for 34 years straight, fucking rack lockouts with 900 and everything LOL, and then I tear it warming up with some ridiculously light weight. A couple of minutes before I had yelled at my lifting partner to keep his supinated arm straight so as not to tear it :D

I used to do ridiculous stuff like this, almost scared to look myself, 815, 16 years ago :D

What is this idiots obsession with trying every sport that involves extreme types of strength, like he’s trying to prove how manly and badass he is.

One-dimensional man, he doesn't know there is more to life than showing off his muscles.

That’s damn impressive. Looked smooth and easy for you. I think if someone has genetically strong biceps and tendons, then they can get away with never having an issue with mixed grip. But I also think if something is just a tiny bit off or moves in the wrong way, even an inch, a tear can occur. I just think it’s such an unnecessary risk to do underhand rows, mixed grip, or preachers. The biceps are such a small muscle that can get tight, and if your elbows don’t have the ability to fully lock out, and you have repeated stress over and over for years, I think you’re really playing with fire. I cannot watch videos of people tearing their biceps.

Overloading your body (blood pressure, spine, joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles,...) to satisfy the ego is not it.
