Overloading your body (blood pressure, spine, joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles,...) to satisfy the ego is not it.
Sure, you can look at it that way. But what do you think of men fighting for sport (ego)? On the one hand it's retarded to risk
any hits to the head especially, but on the other there have been many 'philosophical' arguments made in favor of it as well. Men fight. I don't fight so I'm not very masculine, just saying. And certain risk taking
is masculine biologically.
The biceps are such a small muscle that can get tight, and if your elbows don’t have the ability to fully lock out, and you have repeated stress over and over for years, I think you’re really playing with fire. I cannot watch videos of people tearing their biceps.
Exactly. Any slight bend in the arm is dangerous and even in my decades old clips I see myself looking at my right bicep after sets, just to see if it's still attached. There's bound to be some micro tearing or whatever after many decades of lifting and one day it gives. Though on the other hand perhaps the tendons slowly get thicker as well? If and when I get my surgery I'll try to remember to ask the surgeon if my bicep tendon was maybe a bit thicker than usual.
