Here in CA the new governor has already said he is going to push for a mileage tax, .10 for every mile you drive. People already crying about how expensive it is in CA and they keep voting in dems that are openly telling them they are going to make their lives more expensive. LOL you can't make up the retardation!
Have you considered moving to somewhere with a lower tax burden?
According to AI,
Mississippi: Frequently ranks near or at the very top for the lowest cost of living index in the U.S.
Oklahoma: Consistently scores as one of the most affordable states for housing, utilities, and general goods (with a cost-of-living index around 86) while actively working to phase down individual income tax rates.
Tennessee: Offers no state income tax on earned wages and low property taxes, paired with a cost of living.
South Dakota: Features no personal income tax and a low overall tax burden, alongside a cost of living roughly 1.12 times cheaper than the national average.
Wyoming: Levies no state or corporate income tax and boasts one of the lowest overall state-and-local tax burdens in the country combined with a cost of living well below the national average.
I have not lived in or visited any of these states, so I cannot speak to the overall quality of life they have. They are all inland states. I prefer living in a coastal state, but with the exception of Mississippi, they do tend to have a higher cost of living. For some reason Mississippi just does not do it for me.
