It's not the religion in itself which is tolerant or not.

It is decided by those who practice it. We live in a more secular society, where religion has settled in.

One has to remember that Islam is a younger religion, established in the 7th century. If you look back 600 years, you will see that there were lots of people killed in the name of Christianity, burned as witches et al.

Not an excuse for the crimes of Muslim extremists, but just to point out that it's not about the religion itself. But rather the society who practices it. And Islam has yet to settle in.

The Muslim world needs to do in 5-10 years what Christianity did in 500 years. Or there will be the Clash of Civilizations that Samuel P Huntington predicts.

There are Muslims that are very tolerant. And Christians who are extremists and want to go and free the Holy Land...

In Sweden, the lack of guts is also seen. Fear of Muslim Extremists are making publishers to ditch satirical contents that is aimed towards the Muslims. The Christians are also starting to lobby for protection of their symbols.
