need help with shoulder injury
« on: June 04, 2006, 11:02:09 AM »
i've had this shoulder problem for a damn long time.  the bone which extends to the edge of my left deltoid, the clavicle i believe, protrudes noticeably when i allow my posture to slump.  however, this does not happen with my other shoulder.  also, there is a noticeable difference in delt shape, a possible tear in the side delt.  it clicks when i move it, makes it almost impossible to do heavy pressing movements.  any advice would be greatly appreciated.  it's weird, almost as if my shoulder is separated.

It sounds more like a separated shoulder...the labrum is under your shoulder (armpit area) that is usually injured when you dislocated the shoulder. Did you ever land on that shoulder directly..??

Well anyways I separated my shoulder a year ago to date...it has abeen a long road of contemplation of things like surgery or not....so far no surgery but no where to 100%, it definitely takes time. Here is a link that describes a A/C (AcromioClavicular) joint injury known as a separated shoulder :-\

From all the information I found on this injury there is really no clear answer what would happen post surgery..50/50 chance it would effect weight training either way with or without surgery :-\ I would suggest seeing an orthopedic specialist, and if you got insurance get an MRI to find if there is any other damage going on in there...and weighout your options, a tuff decision either way and like I did..I choose to let it heal out and its gotten better but still not completely 100%
