how many shmucks outthere in the pro ranks can look like Ronnie at 42yrs old. forget everything else about his physique. Nobody, will still be competing when they reach their forties, unless they do the masters, which a lot of 30 something are planning on doing. Ronnie is blessed when it comes to aging. Remember, most previous Mr olympias were on their way to retirement in their mid to late thirties, Ronnie become the energizer Bunny. If He wins his 9th Olympia, I will bow down to him as the GREATEST MR OLYMPIA OF ALL AGES

If Ronnie had just continued on in his 1998 condition, or his 2001 Arnold Classic win condition, would he have been able to keep winning?

yes

I believe Arnold could of been Mr. O up until Haney's reign if he truly wanted.  There just wasn't incentive.  There is at least some money in it now for the elite.

Ronnie just changed with the game - if they <Judges - Weider- BSN > asked hime too come in like 98 then he would - but the judges are not asking him too change anything.

Ask Ronnie to come back in 07 with a new MR. O and watch what body he would bring < do not forget his check for $110,000.00 for guest posing >

Now that would be entertainment !

He was the shit in 97-98, and still good in 99, although should've lost to Cormier

watch the 99 olympia video with Ronnie and Chris standing beside one another at the pre-judging. Watch them compare pose after pose. You will change your opinion.

Chris should have definately beaten Flex, who look puffy and oily that year, but not Ronnie.

good point. People who talk shit about Ronnie's current physique (hell, even I am guilty since I much prefer the Ronnie of old)- forget that he is in his mid fourties, a time when most would be doing the Masters shows, never mind going for Olympia #9..

the only person that maybe would have beaten ronnie in his 98 form, was gunter in 2002.

That would be very close. Gunter was very hard in 2002 and weighed 299lbs. that would be 51lbs of muscle over Ronnies 1998 form (the 1998 version on Ronnie was still a bit behind in the deltoid and calf department plus he had bad gyno). Would be a interesting comparison.

if Ronnie wins his 9th Olympia and retires,or come back one more year, whatever happens, I dont think we are going to see anybody in the future winning Olympias after Olympias anymore. When Ronnie retires, I think the never ending Olympia streak ends for good. I dont expect whoever succeeds Ronnie Coleman is gonna keep winning and winning, there might be lots of Changes in this sport for good.

Ronnie 98 would probably beat Gunter 2002 in every single pose, including the ab and thigh. We are not talking about Ronnie who was way off like he was in 2002. We are talking about Ronnie in one of his greatest presentations ever - gyno and all.

Gunter would be bigger, but would give up a lot in terms of quality and taper..

I don't really think it would be all that close.

Gunter beat a Ronnie that was way, way off. He wouldn't beat a near career best shape ronnie in my biased opinion 8)

I think Ronnie would take Gunther although a 50lb weight advantage is a massive difference Ronnie wouldn't make Gunther look small !! but I think Ronnie was on the money ( excpet the gyno ) in 98 so I think he could take him .

The 98 O Ronnie would EASILY defeat the 2003 and 2004 O Ronnie. That's for sure. I just saw a video of the 296 lbs, 2004 O Ronnie and !damn! was he ugly! Besides the gigantic, disproportional thighs, he had nothing going on for him: a monster gut, no obliques and little abs, practically no back or quad detail whatsofuckingever when relaxed, small calves for his quads and tiny forearms and tris for his monster biceps. Just disgusting. The 98 Ronnie, conversely, is one of the best ten physiques ever. :)

5. Dorian Yates, 1993 Mr.O
6. Kevin Levrone, 1995 Mr.O
7. Ronald Coleman, 1998 Mr.O
8. Steve Reeves, all of his years
9. Shawn Ray, 1996 Mr.O
10. Dexter Jackson, 2006 ASC

the 2002 Gunter would beat the 1998 Coleman on the front double bicep pose, side chest, most muscular and ab/thigh

PS I like how you used pics of gunter from 3-4 different contests/years above  :-\

Gunter may have even won the rear lat pose!

I am not enough of a Gunter fan to know which contest shots are which. But I do know this:

If even ND will admit that Ronnie 98 would beat Gunter 2002, it would not be very close at all. Look at those 98 shots I posted again. Yes, Gunter would be 50 pounds heavier. But he would loose a whole lot in terms of muscular quality, shape and overall body taper..

Gunter 2002 is not in the top few physiques ever presented onstage. He was good, don't get me wrong.

But to beat Ronnie in his 98 condition would mean that you were among the top few physiques ever presentated onstage.

Does Gunter fit this bill?

I would say no.

I agree. Check out the list I made of the top ten physiques ever. Ronnie, in his 98 version, makes the cut, but no Gunther. ;)

Okay, its settled: the two most delusional, biased and blind Ronnie haters (ND and suckmyasshole 8)) both agree that Ronnie 98 would beat Gunter 2002.

Therefore, its not even close at all 8)

ronnie would still win.  he has a combo of mass, asthetics, and shape that others dont possess.  he has more maturity in his muscles, that others dont have.

the only person that maybe would have beaten ronnie in his 98 form, was gunter in 2002.
Are you nuts?
