If Ronnie had just continued on in his 1998 condition, or his 2001 Arnold Classic win condition, would he have been able to keep winning?

I saw him win his first "O" and felt he looked a lot better then at the lighter weight than in later incarnations;but if athletes don't "improve" from show to show, people complain. What if your condition is so tight that there might not realistically be room for improvement? Can you just keep bringing the same dominant package?

I think he could , he was super sharp in 98 and a tad fuller in 99 either version could beat Cutler or Dex !!

yes cause no one else has matched that shape mass and condition. same with dorian if he would have kept his 93 body during his riegn no one would have beat him or been close

His waist was way tighter back then.

Also, his back had MORE detail and was BETTER. The big talk at the Olympia last year was that Jay had brought his back up so that it almost matched Ronnie's. Truth is, Ronnie's back doesn't match Ronnie's back anymore.

How sick would it be if Ronnie brought the 98 form to the O stage this year? Would the judges recognize it or penalize him for not being 260+???

ronnie would still win. he has a combo of mass, asthetics, and shape that others dont possess. he has more maturity in his muscles, that others dont have.

the only person that maybe would have beaten ronnie in his 98 form, was gunter in 2002.

Ronnie has sucked ass big time ever since 99.

He was the shit in 97-98, and still good in 99, although should've lost to Cormier. But ever since, he's looked like a preggo.

Ronnie was shafted a lot of times in 96-97.

i think coleman looks better now than he did in 1998...i never liked coleman small..coleman can never look good when he is small...before 1998 he had the worst body ever..ronnie is synonmous with mass and ronnie coleman has never looked good as an asethetic bodybuilder.....ronnie was dwarfed by alot guys before 1998...i guess ronsters mass now is much more amazing and coleman looks more of a bodybuilder than he did before 1998...coleman=mass=bodybuilding=MR OLYMPIA..THATS THE WAY COLEMAN ALWAYS SHOULD AND WILL ALWAYS B THE UNDISPUTED KING OF MASS...

I think the combo Ronnie presented in 97-98 was one of the best all time, I really don't think anyone on stage at this point could challenge him...comparing the shots of Ronnie from his first Olympia to now is pretty damn sad. He looks terrible now compared to back then. The sport has really digressed.

This thread complements my original thread on the Olympia being fixed very nicely. These photos serve to prove part of my point. A 98' Ronnie Coleman is invincible. If he would have kept that tiny waist/gut in check, and only added more quality muscle, there would have never been any type of conspiracies to speak of. The 98' Coleman is what every Olympia competitor should strive for, as close to perfection as humanly possible.
