Bob Chick,

you have every reason to lie.... you are/were an IFBB pro, which means you lie to the public when asked about your "supplements".

IFBB pros, most of whom suffer from insecurity, cannot come to terms with the fact that the "success" comes from a syringe.

Hence idiotic terms/phrases such as "all genetics, its all about nutrition, I live for the weights" are used when asked about the secret to their success. Somehow the role of drugs are completely forgotten.

Bob, you are no different. you too are a liar.

LOL...you can believe what you want, I have no reason to lie about it...And I did make some great gains on my first cycle, it was for the 1987 Jr, Nationals (which I won)  You can easily see from my pics from 13-20 the steady progress I made from year to year...I knew about steroids, knew the older guys in the gym used them, read about them in the magazines....but vowed to train natural through my teens to build a good base (as I was given the right advices)...besides that, I was beating all the kids who used them anyways...

here's me at 15

As an IFBB pro...why would it make any difference whatsoever whether or not I was using steroids at 15?  In my case...I chose not to consider taking them until I was out of my teens.

If you really think success comes from a syringe, then you are out of touch with reality and what it takes to be a pro (in ANY sport) I know guys who took everything and anything they could get their hands on...and never made it out of the local level.

The role of drugs aren't forgotten...but they're not the sole rerason for anyone's success or failure, they are just ONE of many components....steroids don't train for you, diet for you, get up at 5 a.m. to do cardio, or give you the drive or determination to stick with a goal for the better part of 13 years.

You are no different than the rest of the people that try and demean someone else's accomplishments to justify your own failures.

Drugs and genetics are the most important factors.  The whole "diet/training" BS are incidental when it comes to a pro.

You said you didn't even have to diet to get into the shape you were in at 17.  What is all this talk about hard work and dedication. Simple fact is you are on hrt/testosterone right now as I type this..........if you came off of everything you'd shrink no matter how you diet or train.  That's the bottomline.  You can train and eat right and get into shape that 90% of the population wouldn't be able to........but at your size no way.  The size of pros is UNATTAINALBE without drugs.

Yeah...that's true...I never dieted or did cardio for a show until I trained for the 1986 Jr. Nationals at 20 years old....I had a super high metabolism and was interested in getting bigger, not smaller from diieting (my mentality at the time)

Simple fact is...I'm on nothing as I type this, and havent been for some time....not that I'm opposed to HRT (I openly supprt it and think anyone could benefit from it) The size I have today is a result of training consistantly for oer 30 years...I'm nowhere near as big as I was when using gear and competing...but don't have to be either...I'm retired from competition.

For your last staement of attaining the size of pros....whats your point?  No one is saying you can be natural and step on the Olympia stage....is this a revelation to you?

Look at a few pics of pros "on" and "off".  That's all you need to know.  It's obvious drugs and an outstanding genetic response to drugs is what makes a pro.  It's definitely true that someone with shit genetics can take all the drugs in the world and never even win a local contest, but even with Ronnie Coleman genetics, the drugs make the pro.

Assuming that drugs are an even playing field in the pro's...It would make more sense that genetics makes the pro.

I never agree with you but I do here.  Sponsorships and such have little to no effect on a company's sale costs.  Products cost is determined by COS and the market.  As you know, marketing is supposed to create ROI (unless you're branding) and no good company is in the hole trying to pay off their marketing bills.  Again, product cost is based on r&d, ingredients, market tolerance and the economy.

I'm sure you have had conversations with Paul or Dave about this issue.

hey dude, what exactly do you do for a living?

The difference is that your claim "I was all natural until....." sounds more impressive than "I started juicing from the start"
Just another method of minimizing the role of steroids in your career.

If you really think success comes from a syringe, then you are out of touch with reality and what it takes to be a pro (in ANY sport) I know guys who took everything and anything they could get their hands on...and never made it out of the local level.

I don't know any all natural bodybuilders on the olympia stage. It takes a syringe to be successful in this game. Hope you aren't foolish enough to debate that one.

When a pro lists everything you mentioned, and forget to mention drugs, as to the reason behind his development/success. He lied.

You are no different than the rest of the people that try and demean someone else's accomplishments to justify your own failures.

If it is any consolation Bob Chick, I think you are one of the more intelligent pros.

I'll be more than happy to take a polygraph test (at your cost, of course) anytime to put a rest to your doubts...

Pro's don't bring up the drug issue for obvious reasons...thought that was fairly obvious.  They also dont give the drugs that much credit as it's a level playing field which pretty much makes it a moot point

Again, you want to debate whether or not there are guys that are natural on the Olympia stage....who's saying there are?

Come on Bob, how would you have any idea what you did in your teens??  listen to these kids, they know what you did 25 years ago way more than you possibly could!!

on a positive note, if you ever want to have your biography written, these kids no exactly how you've ran your life! ::)

Supplements suck and most of the gear going around is Chinese garbage...Many many people are going to get very sick from most of the shit that is floating around and unregulated...And all you guys eating a ECA stack non stop have a better chance of not having heart problems in the very near future if you did a gram of blow a day...

sorry Sev, i like you, i respect you, but disagree with you here! Bob could have been 220+ before starting drugs, and maintain 240+ for the rest of his life after quitting drugs.  i've seen a lot of guys do the same thing. and i know more guys that did tons of drugs and never hit 200lbs.  some guys have it, and most guys don't.
