all the "bloated stomach" comments are fair. please understand, though, that these pics were taken right after a workout. i drink a full gallon of water during my workout and then follow that up with an enormous protein/carb shake too! i have alot of liquid in my stomach right there. im not saying my midsection is wasp like, but it is certainly not as bad as these pics would indicate.

Looking good Dave!  what weight class will you be in?  Besides myself, there are several others from Minnesota who will be competing in the Masters.  I'll be in the welterweight class (in the over 40) and the middleweight class in the over 50.  My friend Mark Anderson will be a heavy weight in the over 40 class and usually has the most freakiest hardness you'll ever see on anyone and stirations in his glutes that will hold silver dollars.  My leg training partner Brian Thompson will probably compete as a middlweight in the over 40.

Looking forward to a great show and meeting others from the boards while I'm there!

Check out my video at three weeks out:

Randy Leppala

randy. i saw your video clip the other day and thought it was really cool. i especially liked the scene where your alarm goes off and you have to get up to do your cardio. there is a similar scene in my dvd thats coming out. i thought that was funny.

im 230 as of today and i will be going in at about 220 most likely. looked up a pic of your boy mark and he looks really good! best of luck to him. and to you!! see you there....dave

Good luck Dave. The time spent competing for all these years will pay off at the Masters. You are looking bigger than ever. How many competitors who have competed since the early 90's are still competing today, AND have improved?

See you there in Pittsurgh.

hey, tony. thanks alot. but, guess what. my first show was in 1982!! lol!! i won my first title in 1983! (teen mr. delaware county)...that makes me a reeeeaaaal master, huh?? see you in pittsburgh.

It's a very unique DVD and I highly recommend it.  Bodybuilding needs more DVDs like it.

Any time Mike. You were the first to spread the word about RTB! Make sure you find me at the show in Pittsburgh. I need to get you on tape. I'm sure you'll have plenty to say!

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments about RTB. This is Dave's brother Mike, the filmmaker. We are indeed taping a sequel to the documentary! We have been for the past year. So many people have asked for it and so much has happened. Dave's BB career has taken off in ways he never anticipated at this stage of the game and I am going to show all that and more as I follow him to Pittsburgh in two weeks! Keep a lookout for RTB2 early next year.

Please excuse the plugs, but if you'd like to check out my videography website it's http://www.mikepulcinella.com/

and Dave's Nutrifit site is still http://www.davepulcinella.com/

Thanks,
Mike
Hey, Mike. Was this your first stab at film making? It was very well done. By the way, did you ever hear back from Adam again?  :D

Not to make this sound too much like a Cinderella story but I had hardly ever used a video camera before, let alone ever made a movie! This whole thing started out as a joke and has been one of the biggest surprises of my life! I merely wanted to make a short documentary-style video that would make my brother laugh. I thought that after the contest, Dave and I would sit down and watch this thing and chuckle and that would be it. But things started to happen...dramatic things, and at one point Dave turned to me and whispered, "I think we have something here. Don't stop filming!" Being an outsider to the sport I had no idea we were breaking new ground in the bodybuilding world! When we released RTB and it was compared to Pumping Iron I nearly pooped my pants!

It makes me so happy to think that people around the world are enjoying RTB! We've gotten fan emails from as far away as Great Britain, Germany and Holland! I hope I can do as good a job on RTB2!!

Thanks

P.S. No one has seen or heard from Adam ever since. I think he moved to Montana! I still have his teenage BB photographs that he never got back from me!

I got the DVD a while back and I have to tell you that it's extremely well done.  Dave get's into some serious condition and totally smokes everyone.  The journey itself is what made it so entertaining to watch.  Anyone who's ever prepared for a show can definately relate and anyone who hasn't can get a sense of what it's like.  Encore!  We need a follow up documentary.  How about the "road to the masters" to document Dave's preparation for the Master's Nationals?

That's exactly what I'm doing! We'll be at the Nationals in two weeks. Stay tuned!

lookin awesome Dave, phenomenal conditioning, the only weak points i see are the waist is big but you know that, the calves need more size but the shape and detail is good and the arms could stand to be bigger but like i said you look awesome.

I'm gonna go as far as saying Raising the Bar is the modern-day film of Pumping Iron. Hey Dave, try to hide someone's shirt backstage at the Masters. Might give ya a psychological edge.  :P

Ha haaaa! Vic you've watched PI too many times! No, Dave can't be the bad guy of RTB2. I have to get someone else to his HIS shirt!

But seriously, with all the BB videos out there of every competitor imaginable, you mean to tell me that no one has shown the day to day stuff like we did?? I don't watch those vids so I don't know, but I find it hard to believe. It's one of the most interesting aspects of the sport if you ask me.

Yes, Steve is our cousin. He may be appearing briefly in RTB2. We shot a workout with him and Dave at Steve's Iron Sport Gym. Iron Sport is a cool place. It is unique in our area in that it is geared toward strength training and they have all sorts of weird equipment, from Atlas Stones to giant truck tires!
