Ok...so that was amusing-let me give you all more details.
The gay Games accepts both gay and straight competitors probablky for a few reasons:
1. They want more money
2. They want more people competing
3. They want to raise awareness, acceptance and support of the Gay lifestyle
4. It is hopefully a place where people do not have to worry about their choices and are with similar people
Anyway, I got involved because I was listening to a Radio show, The Roe Conn Show on WLS 890 AM about 1 month ago. A man on the show (none are gay) was going to compete in Table Tennis to be a representative from the show. They make fun of everything and this was a way to be involved and "supportive" of the Gay Games being in Chicago but still poke fun at it. Well there is no table tennis and Bill, the man doing it felt badly. Roe went over the list of other events he could compete in...Bill didn't want to because he wouldn't be good at the other ones and wouldn't make the show "proud." One of them was called physique.
I called the show, spoke with the Producer and told them they could sponsor me in bodybuilding and still have someone to cheer on at the Games. Roe liked teh idea, had me in the studio a few weeks ago to hammer out details...It was supposed to be a 12 minute segment, we talked over 3 segments. They decided to sponsor me and are having me on tonight (along with a rep from the games) to hype it up more. The actual event takes place next Wednesday.
240, I agree about getting a copy and asked last time I was there. They aren't allowed to give that to me. It's unfortunate because I didn't record it, hopefully they will reconsider or at least let me link to it on my website. I figured this would be good exposure for me, plus I love the show and am having fun doing it.
Like I mentioned I am not gay but if that changes over the course of next week you guys will be the first to know.
