"RJ" is 5 and insists he is in training to become an Ultimate Fighter. During my workouts he hits the heavy bag and does curls with a broom handle. After my workout, when I am slugging down a whey protein shake he asks for one too (its GNC 100% whey with nothing else in it, no creatine etc). I don't see the problem and give him a full scoop (20g).
My wife worries, however. I assure here there is nothing wrong with it and in fact, most kids don't get enough protein in their diet (how much protein is there in tater tots, mac n' cheese and apple juice? not much).
Am I missing something? If anybody knows any reason, any at all, why I shouldn't give him a whey protein shake now and then, please let me know.
