I understand that you find it hard to believe but their is a huge height diference between you and Arnold. If I recal right you are 5'6" and Arnold is or was 6'2". His muscle bellies where much longer than the average trainees and therefore 21 inches to him may seem like 19 inches to you.
With regards,
Alexxx -future mr. Olympia and current number one contender for the mr. Getbig.
...Alexxx, I've had my calves as large as 18.75'' cold, they rubbed together when I walked. Even at 17.5'' they look much bigger than Arnold's ever did (yes even '74). Joe Roark, the ironage.us resident iron historian has personally measured Vince Taylor's arm, cold, at 19.75'' (Taylor was 235 at 5'8''), and Lee Priest's at 21.25'' cold (Priest was 220 at 5'5'')... Taylor's arms are more impressive than Arnold's were yet every time Arnold's Encyclopedia is reprinted his measurements become more impressive: first Arnold's top-form arm measurement was 21'', then on another printing that became 22'', and in the latest print run I believe the figure of 22.5'' arms is being bandied about...
I reckon Arnold's arms were between 19'' and 20'' cold in contest shape as the only reliable measurement taken was by bodybuilding's great thinker, Arthur Jones, who reported Arnold's slightly pumped upper arms at 19.25'' and 19.625'' respectively.
Why would anyone believe these exagerations when even Arnold only claimed 20'' calves (implying they were in fact 17.5'' to 18'').... maybe we should all just wait till the 2015 printing of Arnold's Encyclopedia so we can blindly repeat claims of 25'' upper arms and 24'' calves.
Most of the black pros pictured in this thread have calves in the 16'' to 18'' range, despite what they tell you... at 5'4''/5'5'' my 17.5'' (cold) calves consist of a lump of muscle that is actually larger than my entire foot. Compare those proportions to the feet of these pros...
